Gundersen Health System, becoming Emplify Health, is seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE) Ophthalmic Tech I to join our growing Vision Services Department!

Position: Ophthalmic Tech I

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Location: Primarily Gundersen Eye Clinic La Crosse

What you'll do:

  • Patient Preparation:Assist in preparing patients for eye examinations by taking medical histories, measuring visual acuity, and conducting preliminary tests such as tonometry and pupil dilation.
  • Assisting with Procedures:Support ophthalmologists during various procedures by administering eye drops, setting up equipment, and ensuring that the examination room is properly equipped and sanitized.
  • Data Management:Document patient information, test results, and maintain accurate records in the electronic health record (EHR) system
  • Assist with staffing at other Gundersen Vision Clinic locations as needed

What you'll need:

  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • 2 years of relevant work experience
  • Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certified by JCAHPO within 18 months of hire date
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
