JOB DESCRIPTION Position: Network Specialist Position Summary: Our organization is seeking a full-time Network Specialist to provide Network Administration and Quality Assurance support to the Client's Deployed Support Section. The Deployed Support Section's mission is to provide leadership, technical guidance, training and direct on-site and/or remote support to USMC units deployed or preparing to deploy as required. When needed, the team leverages additional technical experts, internal and external to MARFORCYBER, to ensure deployed unit issues with Data Networks, Information Systems, and Cybersecurity are swiftly resolved. Systems being supported include but are not limited to routing, switching, VOIP, Active Directory, DNS, HBSS, ACAS, Virtualization, Web Proxy, and Firewalls. Clearance Eligibility: Active DoD - Secret Salary: The salary offered will depend on education, certifications, length and relevance of work history, and professional experience. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide technical assistance during the planning phases of various deployments/exercises and coordinate swift solutions to networking and data system problems during the execution phases.
- Review and report daily on the status of all Tactical Extension (TE) on-prem Enterprise Service Virtual Machine Suites to ensure connectivity.
- Coordinate with Client Sections and Operational forces to provision, build, and vMotion Virtual Machines from Base data centers to Local Unit Hardware to support (ISO) deployments/exercises.
- Coordinate troubleshooting efforts between the Enterprise Network Operations Center, Naval Network Operations Centers, and other client sections, as necessary, for operational forces on the employment of data communications systems and services, including routing, switching, firewalls, Microsoft Exchange, and Active Directory.
- Maintain records of all active and future deployed networks, ensuring exercise details and related points of contact for current and future operations are accurate.
- Maintain and patch Enterprise Operations Division's Persistent Training Network (PTN), consisting of routers, switches, and servers.
- Monitor Tactical Entry Point (TEP) VPN gateways and all tactical remote kits connected via IPSec VPN tunnels and ensure proper routing and reachability to MCEN services.
- Check configurations for validity, accuracy, and completeness utilizing approved configuration change sources such as trouble tickets, Requests for Modification (RFM), and change requests.
- Check router, switch, and firewall configurations for non-approved variances from the standard or baseline configuration of the device type to ensure proper security hardening and cyber security best practices. All discrepancies (as defined by Client procedures and policies) discovered shall be documented and investigated in a Configuration Discrepancy Report.
- Review unit-deployed network/exercise diagrams and coordinate required changes and updates within the unit's Accreditation Package to obtain official approvals.
- Ensure no deployed IP network conflicts exist, and validate and/or coordinate required DNS changes to support the exercise/deployment.
- Maintain, patch, and update the internally deployed support SharePoint website.
- Provide support to the military and civilian personnel of the Deployed Support Team as required.
- Maintain cognizance and provide regular status updates on assigned projects being worked on.

Education and Certification Requirements:
- IAT II certification (CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+CE, CND, or SSCP)
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- 3 years of network administration demonstrating hands-on working experience troubleshooting and resolving various technical problems
- Experience with MS Visio and MS Excel preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- General office environment. Work is generally sedentary but may require movement about the office for up to 10% of the time. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.
- Contractor site with 0-10% travel possible.
- Possible off-hours work to support releases and outages.
- Occasional movement of small articles up to 10 lbs.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
- Continually operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.
- Occasionally required to move self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments, including tight and confined spaces.
