Job Summary

The Senior Human Resources Advisor is responsible for performing a broad range of human resources activities to attract, retain, engage, and motivate employees, including recruitment and staffing, HR training, employee relations and providing guidance and direction to managers on policy, compliance, and other people items. May be responsible for supervising staff.


Essential Functions

  • Actively supports the Company's commitment to safety and its "Core Values."
  • Represents the Company at all times with high moral standards while adhering to the Company's "Code of Business Conduct and Ethics."
  • Provides guidance and direction to employees and managers, on a variety of policy, compliance, and other human resources issues.
  • Oversees the Company's job posting and recruitment process, including defining, recommending, and implementing college and intern recruiting strategy, the development of recruiting materials, and pre-employment processes.
  • Assists hiring managers with resume review, candidate interview and selection, salary recommendations in line with the Company's salary administration guidelines, and communicating employment offers.
  • Working with the Director, Human Resources, manages the development and implementation of the Company's human resources policies and procedures.
  • Supports the Company's succession planning program and associated activities, to include conducting needs assessment, researching development opportunities, and working with employees.
  • Provides HR training for managers and employees, to include delivering as well as facilitating training sessions, developing training materials, and working with the Training and Development Department to research training options, develop computer-based training, etc., as needed.
  • Supports Affirmative Action Compliance program and associated activities.
  • Manages the Company's relocation program.
  • Coordinates and manages human resources-related special projects, both within the department as well as with operations and/or other support groups on broader initiatives.
  • Supports Visa sponsorship activities working with legal counsel.
  • Assists in conducting acquisition due diligence, as necessary.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.


Qualifications

  • 6+ years' experience in human resources, including experience in employee relations, compensation, HRIS, training and development, and/or recruiting and staffing.
  • Bachelor of Science in Business, Human Resources or a related discipline, or equivalent level experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Thorough knowledge and practical application of federal and state employment laws.
  • Demonstrated skill in the development and implementation of human resources policies and procedures.
  • Strong PC skills including a proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and database applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with personnel at all organization levels.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • PHR certification preferred.

California law requires pay information in job postings. The typical hiring range for this position in California is shown below. The pay rate will depend on the successful candidate's qualifications and prior experience, specific skill set, geographic location, internal equity, and other factors influencing pay. As such, an actual salary may fall closer to one or the other end of this range, and in certain circumstances, may fall outside the listed hiring range.

Hiring range: $93,766.00 to $117,207.00.
