We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for a Product Manager on our Health Solutions team. This is a hybrid position reporting into our Chicago, IL office, requiring 2 days a week in the office.

The Product Manager is
responsible for a variety of activities designed to increase the value
proposition for existing products and design and launch new products to expand
the Database Product portfolio. You will set product strategy, prioritize
features, and coordinate product schedules with your design and engineering
teammates. You will manage all aspects
of the product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities. You must possess a unique blend of business and
technical savvy and the drive to develop and launch innovative solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Product Management & Development

  • Develop, manage, and communicate the product roadmap for product line(s).
  • Gain a deep understanding of customer experience and needs, identify and fill product gaps and generate new ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience, and drive growth.
  • Create user stories for current and future products based on the market's problems and needs.
  • Develop business plans that incorporate financial, competitive and market analysis to maximize ROI.
  • Transform product strategy into detailed business requirements.
  • Partner with IT on the technical development of new products or product features.
  • Provide critical insights on user needs, user experience, market goals and establish product timeline.
  • Drive buy-build-collaborate analysis, and where necessary, review and analyze potential collaborator relationships.
  • Scope and prioritize activities based on business and customer impact.
  • Develop and regularly review and update product pricing strategy. Work with sales and operations to establish documented pricing policies for the designated product line.
  • Work with marketing communications to define the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, key features and benefits, and target customer.

Industry Analysis and Analytics

  • Voice of the customer: Keep abreast of industry trends, regulations and customer needs and behaviors for the assigned product line.
  • Know why we are winning and losing in the market and drive changes to create improvement.
  • Develop strategies and tactics to reduce competitive threats.
  • Conduct customer research, market and competitor analysis and use qualitative and quantitative data to prioritize and drive decisions.
  • Create and maintain a variety of reports including status reports, charts, graphs, analytics, presentations, etc. for the purpose of documenting and communicating product vision, achievements, and status of work in progress.

May include other responsibilities as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bachelor's degree in business, economics, computer science, or related field required.
  2. 5+ years proven experience as a product manager; related and relevant work experience considered. Project or product management certification a plus.
  3. Experience in technology or data products preferred.
  4. Ability to think strategically to drive success of product line.
  5. Proven ability to motivate, lead and collaborate with teams.
  6. Experience and judgment to identify potential suppliers/business partners coupled with well-developed negotiation skills.
  7. Metrics driven: Excellent data synthesis skills to critically analyze and interpret market research and other data, glean insights from that research, and apply those insights to develop business cases and plans.
  8. Excellent financial modeling skills to create complex models simulating market, financial, and operational performance associated with developing and rolling out new products and services.
  9. Superior written and oral communication skills, including experience presenting in a large group setting, with an ability to handle executive level discussions as well as technical deep dives.
  10. In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office tools for the preparation and presentation of research and business cases, including extensive use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Visio.
  11. Comfortable with collaboration tools such as JIRA and Salesforce.
  12. Some travel involved.

The salary range for this position is $92,820 - $123,420. This is the lowest to highest salary we believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's pay within the salary range will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to business consideration, geographical location, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
