Summary

Summary:
The Cardiovascular Perfusionist II role assembles and operates specific perfusion equipment used during any medical situation where it is necessary to support or temporarily replace the patient's circulatory and/or respiratory function. Operates related advanced life support equipment.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: Graduation from an accredited training program with the minimum of an Associate's Degree in Cardiovascular Perfusion with clinical experience specified by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion Technology and certification required. Knowledge of biology, anatomy, physiology, chemistry and pharmacology acquired in college level science courses and/or in an accredited training program required.
  2. License/Certifications: See "Education." Current BLS Certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
  3. Experience: Six months of on-the-job experience preferred. Demonstrates competency in all essential functions of a Cardiovascular Perfusionist I role.
