Position Highlights |
The Office of Undergraduate Admissions seeks enthusiastic candidates who are interested in connecting students to experiences and higher education opportunities at the University of Arizona to apply for the position of Recruitment Coordinator (Recruitment Professional II). This role is responsible for engaging directly with prospective students and families, with a focus on prospective first-year students in the Phoenix area and with an assigned out of state territory. Frequent in-state and regular out-of-state recruitment travel is expected, including three to four weeks anticipated per semester of overnight travel. The Recruitment Coordinator position fosters relationships with community colleges, high schools, counselors, administrators and advisers, community-based organizations, and other faculty and staff. This role supports prospective students and supporters through admissions processes, educational planning, paying for college, and enrollment services. Through interpreting academic, student services, and admissions policies and requirements, the Recruitment Coordinator is an effective communicator and creative problem solver, initiating proactive outreach efforts to prospective and incoming Wildcats. With the unique opportunity to manage a recruitment territory, this position is responsible for the administrative functions related to their role and proper expenditure of budget resources for recruitment activities, programs, and travel.

Duties & Responsibilities |
Work independently and proactively to create and track an individualized recruitment, travel and strategic plan based on targeted enrollment goals for assigned territories. Tracks progress towards goals and determines interventions and supports accordingly. Meets students where they are, traveling via personal, rental, assigned, or university vehicle to recruitment locations, requiring flexibility to work weekends and evenings as needed. Regular out of state recruitment travel is expected, including three to four weeks anticipated per semester and implemented by the Admissions Counselor for their assigned out of state territory.
Manages recruitment territory, with a focus on Phoenix and Northern Arizona high schools and students and an assigned out of state territory. This role forms recruitment plans and activities that resonate with the students and supporters in those regions and throughout Arizona as directed in order to meet desired goals. Represents the University of Arizona, the Arizona and National Recruitment team, and the Office of Undergraduate Admissions recruitment efforts to a wide array of constituents. Develops proactive initiatives to recruit and yield students to Arizona. Deploys active communication with supervisors and team regarding activities, territories, and needs. Presents complex information to audiences that vary in size and scope, using provided and developed presentations. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Skill for helping students in a higher education setting. - Strong oral and written communication skills, public speaking, and presentation skills. - Knowledge of diversity, equity, inclusion, and cultural competence principles. - Ability to collaborate with colleagues to effectively manage competing job responsibilities. - Ability to work independently and proactively to meet position goals and deadlines. - Ability to maintain a high levels of customer service, and meet students where they are. - Excellent time management and organizational skills. - Skill in building relationships with educators, professionals, students, and families. - Ability to follow laws and guiding principles of recruitment work, including FERPA regulations. |
Minimum Qualifications |
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional-level experience required.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience is required.
- Fingerprint clearance required and to be completed once hired.
- Must have a valid driver's license and ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy and reliable personal vehicle is required.
