Location: 1013 Professional Ct. Manning, SC 29102. May be asked to float to Sumter, SC location for coverage, as needed.

Hours: 40-hour work week with flexibility required to work Monday-Friday, between the hours of 8am-6pm and/or Saturday & Sunday between the hours of 8am-4pm. The schedule will be determined by the supervisor upon hire.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Greets patients in a professional and courteous matter
  • Directs patients to appropriate areas
  • Verifies and updates all patient demographic, employment, and insurance information with EACH visit
  • "Checks-in" all patients, gives patients medical forms to complete or update
  • Collects co-payments, deductibles, co-insurances, and outstanding balances, verifies insurance eligibility, verifies pre-authorizations were obtained (if applicable)
  • Collects payment, writes receipts, and posts payments
  • "Checks-out" all patients, schedules appointments for procedures, labs, and follow-up visits. Provides patient education for any prep information needed for procedures
  • Prepares information for next day's appointment (if applicable)
  • Scans and files patient information as needed
  • Reconciles cash drawer daily and sends deposits to Department Manager
  • Retrieves and sorts mail into appropriate boxes. Sorts and documents any returned mail
  • Maintains a good working relationship with practice staff members
  • Meets dress code standards; appearance is neat and clean
  • Completes annual education requirements
  • Reports to work on time and as scheduled
  • Completes work in a timely manner
  • Attends staff meetings
  • Ensures patient confidentiality
  • Complies with all practice policies and procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
  • 1+ years of customer service or medical office experience


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel
  • Experience with electronic medical records



The salary range for this role is $16.00 to $28.85 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
