Position title: Postdoctoral Scholar Salary range:
The posted UC system-wide salary scales set the minimum pay based on prior months of postdoc service (both domestic and international) before the start of the appointment. A reasonable estimated full-time rate for this position at 100% time is $69,073- $82,836. Salaries that are higher than the published system-wide salary at the designated experience level minimum are offered when necessary to meet competitive conditions. Percent time:

This is a 24 month position Application Window Open date: January 29, 2025 Next review date: Monday, Feb 24, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Friday, Mar 7, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description The Center for Black Studies Research at the University of California Santa Barbara seeks applications for two postdoctoral fellowship positions on research related to African American Studies/Black Studies. 75% of the fellowship will be devoted to the fellow's writing and research; the remaining 25% will be dedicated to developing the Center's programs & research and mentoring undergraduates, which may involve teaching. The fellowship will provide a salary based on the candidate's experience and qualifications. Research and travel allowance and health insurance will be provided. The Center is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research and service. Position Overview: The fellowship offers the opportunity to engage in independent research while also contributing to the Center's programs. Fellows will devote 25% of their time to mentoring undergraduate research, co-authoring manuscripts, and developing initiatives aimed at enhancing student engagement in Black Studies. Responsibilities include guiding students through workshops, research projects, and other academic training activities. The remainder of the fellow's time will be dedicated to their own research pursuits, with support from the Center. Key Responsibilities:

The minimum requirement to be considered an applicant is the completion of all requirements for a Ph.D. except the dissertation (ABD status) in Black Studies, Social Sciences, Humanities or Arts, Health and STEM disciplines at the time of application. Additional qualifications
