Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer Location: Pascagoula, MS, US Position Overview The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for designing, planning, manufacturing, constructing, and installing electrical or electronic components and systems. This position ensures compliance with regulatory standards related to electrical installations and supervises or directs the work of drafters and designers. The Senior Electrical Engineer reports directly to the Electrical Engineering Lead. Typical Duties The following outlines the general nature of the role but is not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities: * Execute engineering assignments associated with electrical design to ensure compliance with contract requirements. * Supervise and guide drafters and/or designers involved in electrical design. * Review and verify the accuracy of designs. * Maintain documentation and data related to electrical designs. * Prepare and respond to inquiries and reports for regulatory agencies. * Coordinate with vendors to ensure design compatibility. * Attend and provide support during meetings with the USCG. * Communicate effectively with Program Engineers, Procurement Specialists, Design Engineers, and Production Personnel to meet project schedules and requirements. * Ensure progress on assigned functional work. * Collaborate with MCS/ACS personnel within the government. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities * Strong understanding of all phases of procurement activities for marine products, including industry regulations and company standards. * Considerable knowledge of electrical design related to division products. * Familiarity with regulatory and company standards for electrical installations or the ability to acquire such knowledge quickly. * Ability to translate technical requirements into actionable engineering data. * Demonstrated leadership and teamwork abilities to guide others and maintain effective working relationships. * Experience collaborating with production teams, customer representatives, and equipment manufacturers. * Clear and effective communication skills, both oral and written. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD. * Strong working knowledge of Maritime Regulatory Authorities (e.g., ABS, DNV, NAVSEA, MIL, USCG, IMO, IEEE). * Expertise in shipboard power systems, including: o Electrical one-line (EOL) diagrams. o Electrical Plant Load Analysis (EPLA). o Auxiliary Control Systems (ACS) and Machinery Control Systems (MCS). o Block diagrams and elementary wiring diagrams. * Comprehensive understanding of vessel design in areas such as: o Structure: Hull design concerning electrical installations. o Outfitting: Arrangements of electrical spaces. o Mechanical: HVAC and auxiliary systems supporting electrical installations. o Electrical: Power generation, distribution, and lighting. o Marine cable types and electrical space arrangements. Desirable Experience & Training * Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience resulting in the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is preferred. * Extensive experience in electrical engineering, shipbuilding, and production processes. * Level A: 8+ years of experience.
