Quality Control

General Summary of the Position: The Quality Control (QC) representative will oversee the quality systems and administer quality assurance and the quality control program. As part of these duties, the QC will implement manuals and SOPs to ensure they meet both internal and client objectives and requirements. The Quality Control representative shall have an understanding of data quality requirements for remedial investigation and remedial action projects under CERCLA and RCRA as well as State petroleum programs. The candidate should be familiar with the preparation of Uniform Federal Policy Quality Assurance Project Plans (UFP-QAPP) and application of the DoD Quality Systems Manual (QSM) requirements as part of these plans.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensure a high level of internal and external customer service. Investigate (and correct) customer issues and complaints relating to quality.
  • Develop and analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and to establish quality and reliability expectancy of finished products.
  • Provide technical and statistical expertise as part of a team.
  • Document and maintain quality control standards and on-going quality control objectives.
  • Coordinate objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other plant managers to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.
  • Implement inspection criteria and procedures.
  • Interpret quality control philosophy to key personnel within company.
  • Provide inspection activity for product throughout production cycle.
  • Apply total quality management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes.
  • Interact with vendors to ensure quality of all purchased parts.
  • Implement environmental test functions and applications.
  • Maintain active role on internal continuous improvement teams.
  • Implement quality control training programs.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Documented experience in auditing of Quality Systems.

Required Education, Training and Experience:

  • B.S. Degree in engineering, construction management, geology, chemistry, or related field from an accredited post-secondary institution.
  • Professional registration, in respective field, if appropriate
  • At least four (4) years combined experience as part of a consultant project management team managing quality assurance/quality control. If not, a degreed chemist, the Corporate Quality Manager shall have knowledge and experience in the sampling and analysis of environmental media and associated quality assurance.
