Your Role With Us:

Certified Medical Assistant - OB/Gyn Clinic

This vital role involves comprehensive patient care through assessment, intervention, coordination, and documentation.

Key functions include:

  • Patient Assessment & Monitoring - Evaluates patients, identifies life-threatening conditions, and alerts physicians accordingly.
  • History & Vital Signs - Collects patient history, documents vital signs, and reassesses conditions after interventions.
  • Prioritization of Care - Determines care priorities, intervenes in urgent cases, and escalates care when necessary.
  • Physician Order Execution - Coordinates and documents physician orders, initiates diagnostic tests per protocol.
  • Workflow Management - Adjusts to patient flow needs, ensuring continuity of care and efficiency.
  • Discharge & Follow-Up - Provides clear discharge instructions, involves family, and ensures referrals/resources are available.
  • Laboratory Testing - Performs basic lab tests, maintains competency in quality control and proficiency testing.
  • Medication Management - Ensures medication safety, security, and proper administration per protocols.
  • Clinical Competency - Demonstrates proficiency in all clinic-related patient care tasks.
  • Accurate Documentation - Maintains precise records in Epic Ambulatory for visits, calls, and requests.
  • Billing & Charges - Properly assigns facility charges for patient encounters.

    Background/Expertise:

    Licenses/Certifications/Registrations:

    Must hold current medical assistant certification from AAMA, AMT, NHA or NCCT.Must hold current BLS certification. Experience:1. Experience in either an urgent care facility or family practice office preferred.Special knowledge, skills, & abilities: 1. Communications skills enabling adequate information flow in a pleasant manner, not only with co-workers and patients, but also with telephone, fax and computer communication. 2. Competency in the performance of patient care skills. 3. Organizational skills. 4. Interpersonal skills. 5. Adequate visual and hearing ability to read and perform clinical procedures safely. 6. Manual dexterity adequate to perform skills and procedures required for safe patient care. 7. Ability to safely pull and turn a minimum of 50 pounds unassisted and more than 100 pounds with assistance, and reach to accomplish duties. Comments/Other: * Ability to safely lift, pull, and turn a minimum of 50lbs. unassisted and over 100lbs. with assistance.
