Principal Engineer - API Management & Integration Platforms

The Principal Engineer role will have proven track record in driving excellence across Apigee, IBM ACE, MQ & AWS ecosystems. The ideal candidate will bring deep blend of Architecture, Engineering, Development & Operational expertise, coupled with strong foundation in Infrastructure, Network Architecture & Enterprise Systems. The role requires Leader with hands on experience designing and implementing robust solutions, optimizing performance & ensuring seamless integration across diverse platform. The candidate must demonstrate proficiency in Enterprise Architecture, Operational Resilience & End-to-End project delivery with keen ability to collaborate across cross functional teams to deliver scalable, future-proof solutions. As a critical player in API Management & Integrations enterprise team, candidate should drive technical innovation, align solutions with business strategies and should be able to elevate organizational abilities to deliver industry leading outcomes. Position Responsibilities:
Design and Methodology



  • Work closely with business units, application teams, infrastructure areas and vendors to identity, review and evaluate the solution requirements.
  • Investigate and propose strategic fits for virtualization, consolidation and rationalization solution opportunities within the infrastructure or business. Propose changes to the technical architecture and design solutions as applicable.
  • Evaluate and align strategic fit solutions across infrastructure platforms and solutions specific to system hardware and software technologies.
  • Understand, participate, review and influence long term capacity planning and technology investments.


Technical Consulting



  • Provide Client consulting and planning guidance as applicable for moderate to large highly complex projects/programs.
  • Provide consultation and works closely with other functional infrastructure areas/departments on multiple initiatives to meet common organizational / business goals and objectives.
  • Participate in and provides consulting to project teams on architectural, design development, integration opportunities, planning of highly complex systems and assures it is aligned to our established strategies, guiding principles, rationales and practices.


Planning and Organizing



  • Identify and evaluate projects/programs/initiatives and design processes that enhance and rationalize existing and upcoming solutions.
  • Map requirements into standard services solution, identity opportunities for integrating to existing or reuse technology and provide cost effective solutions for moderate to large highly complex project/programs/initiatives.
  • Review, identify and manage requirements for moderate to complex solutions and do a cost value, feasibility and risk analysis.


Risk Management



  • Review, participate, develop and update architectural standards, guiding principles, rationales and strategies.
  • Evaluate, review and approve highly complex design solutions for business and Infrastructure project or programs or initiatives.


Position Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Engineering or in a Technology related field, OR equivalent through a combination of education and/or technology experience, OR 12 years of technology experience
  • 7 years in identifying technical solutions for complex business problems, identifying the benefits and risks of the solutions and providing recommendations
  • 6 years of Technology experience
  • 5 years of experience mentoring another technologist
  • This position is not eligible for sponsorship. Must have indefinite employment authorization.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • 6-8 years of experience implementing API Development/configuration (preferably Apigee) with exceptional knowledge of API Lifecycle management & Industry best practices
  • 6-8 years of experience implementing IBM Products ACE/MQ Development/configuration
  • Experience with AWS Services EC2/S3/Lambda/RDS/ API Gateway
  • Strong Development & Automation & experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools like
  • Jenkins, GitLab, Terraform
  • Strong Experience with Cloud Native solutions, networking & security on AWS.
  • Strong Experience with network design, load balancing, firewalls & DNS as they relate to enterprise systems
  • Strong Experience in designing scalable, resilient & secure architectures
  • Strong Experience in microservices, event-driven architectures, and hybrid/multi-cloud strategies
  • Strong Experience in monitoring & observability tools like Dynatrace, Splunk, TIVOLI
  • Strong Experience in configuring secure, high-availability environments across cloud & on-prem
  • Strong Experience in executing production readiness/operationalizing platforms, ensuring system availability, incident management & capacity planning
  • In-depth knowledge of Controls & Governance
  • Ability to design scalable, resilient & secure architectures
  • AWS Certification



Work Best Category: Category C - Days in the office will either be designated days or will vary week to week from 2-5 days Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday Salary: To Be Determined Based on Individual Experience
