Description
The Quality Control Supervisor will work at White Chemical project located in Newark, NJ. The quality control supervisor position is primarily responsible for coordinating compliance with quality requirements on Department of Defense (DoD) on environmental projects as defined by Company standards and contractual obligations. The Quality Control Supervisor should have experience on environmental or construction projects. Must be able towork at project site location. The QCS will take appropriate action to ensure that work is performed in accordance with contract specifications, pertinent building codes & practices as well as national and local standards. In this position you will:
- Work to actively promote and support the quality control program with subcontractors and project team members on a daily basis
- As directed, deliver quality training for project staff, subcontractors, and other required attendees to ensure achievement of exceptional quality standards including participating in the development of training content
- Ensure that required testing is conducted
- Evaluate test results, ensure results meets specifications, and document results
- Inspect and document the receipt of all materials to ensure compliance with contract documents
- Prepare and/or review of design and material submittals
- Complete quality related documentation (field reports, logs, and records) in a timely and accurate manner
- Ensure that all documentation is organized and uploaded to the project portal
- Ensure implementation of the Three-Phase Control Process in accordance with Company standards and contract requirements
- Provide guidance to subcontractors, client representatives, and project team members to ensure that construction activities are completed according to design
- Investigate and recommend solutions to resolve construction problems related to quality
- Report quality/safety incidents to appropriate members of quality/project management and document on the Company Incident Database
- Ensure implementation and documentation of corrective actions
- Verify implementation and close-out corrective actions
- Initiate stop work or re-work in coordination with the project team in circumstances with respect to work methodologies nonconformance
- Collaborate with Health & Safety counterparts to ensure coordination between areas of responsibility
- In addition to the accountabilities above, other responsibilities, tasks, and deliverables may be assigned to the incumbent of this position
Requirements This position requires the following:
- The ability to communicate in written and oral formats with diplomacy and tact
- An aptitude for exercising independent thinking and reasoning
- Skilled in setting up quality control testing equipment
- Demonstrated knowledge of compliance in government construction or environmental projects
- Proven knowledge in reading and comprehending construction plans and related technical documents
- Successful track record in effectively engaging with subcontractors
- Competent in using Microsoft Office products, email systems, and Windows and familiarity with usage of apps
- Environmental or construction quality control experience
- Three years of experience directly related to quality control
- Education - A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Environmental Sciences or related field is required. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for this requirement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Applicable certification in Quality
- DoD Experience (USACE, Navy, and/or Air Force) expected
- USACE Contractor Quality Management (CQM) training
- Knowledge of USACE Resident Management System (RMS)
- HAZWOPER 40 Hour Certification and 8 Hour Refresher Certification
- HAZWOPER Supervisor Certification
- OSHA 30 Hour Construction Certification
- Familiarity with workplace health and safety concepts
ECC targeted salary range for the New Jersey area is $80,000 to $93,808 annually. Actual salary offered may be affected by education, training, certifications, experience, skills, level of responsibility, and location.
