The Director of Managed Care is a seasoned professional in the U.S. managed care reimbursement business setting. This individual has extensive experience developing and executing on a US-focused reimbursement plan aligned to sales and revenue objectives for cancer molecular testing. You have a deep understand the complexity of payer contracting and have a proven track record of successful partnerships with some of the top National US payers and have numerous Regional plan relationships that you can leverage in this role. You have also demonstrated success at partnering with various channels (LBM, HTA, ACO) to bring a higher level of expertise into planning for these markets.

Job Description
  • Responsible for developing and executing a strategically targeted National and Regional account plan for building coverage, contracting & revenue pull-through with U.S. Managed Care Accounts
  • Manage multiple managed care strategic and regional accounts with the potential to manage 1-2 National accounts as the business expands
  • Develop contacts and relationships throughout large insurance organizations and are able to skillfully influence key players to drive to specific business objectives
  • Set strategy, analyze and assess both qualitative and quantitative contract data, and negotiate medical policy and contracts for Guardant as an in-network provider
  • Work collaboratively with our Reimbursement Operations and Finance teams
  • Bring market knowledge to present clinical data to accounts but also partner with our Medical Affairs team for policy development
  • Collaborate with Sales, be aware of important sales territory-related issues, have broad knowledge of the evolving healthcare landscape, and can pilot opportunities in evolving markets (LBM, HTA, ACO)
Qualifications
  • Extensive experience in the molecular diagnostics market (previous NGS experience a plus) or related experience, and a demonstrated track record in driving favorable reimbursement with commercial payers
  • Established relationships with or reliable access to key National and Regional MCO stakeholders and related influence groups that impact access to our products for Providers and Patients
  • 7+ years Managed Care medical policy development and contracting and sales experience within the Health Care Industry
  • B.A. or B.S. degree, MBA a plus
  • Extensive experience negotiating national agreements involving multi-stakeholders leading to win-win agreement
  • Extensive travel is required
  • Must be physically able to handle extensive travel in vehicle, plane, or other modes of public transport
  • Standing or sitting for long periods of time may be necessary
  • Office may be home-based, and involves extensive use of computer and keyboard while in home office
Additional Information

Hybrid Work Model: At Guardant Health, we have defined days for in-person/onsite collaboration and work-from-home days for individual-focused time. All U.S. employees who live within 50 miles of a Guardant facility will be required to be onsite on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.We have found aligning our scheduled in-office days allows our teams to do the best work and creates the focused thinking time our innovative work requires. At Guardant, our work model has created flexibility for better work-life balance while keeping teams connected to advance our science for our patients.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $200,000 to $270,000. The range does not include benefits, and if applicable, bonus, commission, or equity.The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries across all US locations for the posted role with the exception of any locations specifically referenced below (if any).

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including, but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. If you are selected to move forward, the recruiting team will provide details specific to the factors above.

Employee may be required to lift routine office supplies and use office equipment.Majority of the work is performed in a desk/office environment; however, there may be exposure to high noise levels, fumes, and biohazard material in the laboratory environment.Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
