Summary

The Outside Sales MLO will play a vital role in delivering tailored mortgage solutions and exceptional service to members, leveraging the credit union's extensive mortgage products. Our comprehensive product suite includes FNMA (Sold), Affordable Housing Programs, Down Payment Assistance Programs, Portfolio ARM Loans, Construction Perm Loans, as well as FHA and VA loans offered through brokered channels. This diverse range of options allows us to provide flexible financing solutions to meet the unique financial needs of each member.

The Outside Sales Mortgage Loan Officer focuses on generating first mortgage loans through outside sales and relationship building, supporting consumers and potential members through a strong referral network within the real estate industry, including Realtors, Builders, and Lenders, and other centers of influence. Functioning away from OneAZ business locations when engaging, this role concentrates solely on outside sales and consumer/potential member engagement.

Essential Functions

  • Initiate outreach to external referral sources to establish relationships and cultivate a steady flow of referral business.
  • Generate new mortgage loan business through proactive outreach, networking, and relationship-building with real estate agents, builders, and other business partners away from OneAZ branch or headquarters locations.
  • Actively engage with potential members and consumers, providing education on mortgage products and supporting their needs throughout the initial stages of the loan process.
  • Represent the organization professionally in the community to build brand awareness and establish a strong reputation.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and resource for clients, offering guidance and support to help them achieve their homeownership goals.
  • Collaborate with internal processing and administrative teams to ensure a seamless and efficient mortgage process for clients, with minimal involvement in paperwork and processing tasks.
  • Stay informed about market trends, industry developments, and competitive products to better serve clients and contribute to organizational growth.
  • Adheres to all internal policies and federal regulations regarding origination of mortgage loan and applicable deadlines.
  • Identifies and analyzes potential loan markets to develop prospects for residential real estate loans.
  • Advises loan manager of external factors that may affect establishment lending policies, such as new or revised legislation and regulations.
  • Promotes and cross-sells other establishment products and services as appropriate to member requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education

  • High School Diploma Required
  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred

Work Experience

  • 1 to 3 years of similar or related experience. Minimum two years residential lending experience. Required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Thorough knowledge in loan origination and closing requirements for conventional, construction, and non-conforming portfolio loan programs.
  • A strong sales orientation, resilience in conducting sales calls, and active community engagement are essential, as are excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Expertise in mortgage products such as Fannie Mae, Jumbo, Home Equity, and Portfolio Lending is required.
  • At least two years of successful mortgage origination experience with a transferable referral network.
  • The ability to excel as a positive change agent in a dynamic retail mortgage environment is critical.High
