GENERAL PURPOSE

This position is responsible for supporting sustainability activities within Eco-design. This individual will be responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop processes and conduct sustainability compliance evaluation and research. Also supporting sustainable packaging efforts across AVD. The position will also entail coordinating sustainability related activities to meet our CSR priorities. Through this work, this individual will play a key role in helping Legrand design and deliver more sustainable products to the built environment.

DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Effectively interface with sustainability analysts, engineers, manufacturing engineers, and suppliers to meet CSR commitments and improve sustainability.
  • Support the development, and implementation of processes and procedures
  • Maintain all documentation required to ensure compliance to product regulations including but not limited to RoHS, California Prop 65, REACH, Conflict Minerals and Living Building Challenge
  • Support and maintain all data and documents relevant to the development of PEP documents
  • Maintain a reporting process for measuring sustainability activities
  • Support sustainability compliance efforts for new and existing products
  • Research sustainable packaging solutions to meet CSR objectives
  • Project manage CSR priority projects to meet commitments
  • Demonstrate our five core values of Integrity, Customer Responsiveness, Innovation, Passionate Contribution & Empowerment and Continuous Improvement
  • Other duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Must possess high level of enthusiasm, strong integrity, keen customer service, excellent organizational skills, and excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in the use of personal computers, internet and MS Office suite of software including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment, and leverage additional resources as needed
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret standards, specifications, procedures, drawings, etc.
  • Must be able to function in a deadline driven environment
  • Must possess high degree of professionalism

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in environmental science, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or other related technical degree with sustainability or regulatory experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Passion for sustainability and environmental stewardship and desire to impact the development of next generation products through the application of sustainability principles

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required (for the majority of the working day) to sit and make coordinated movements of the fingers for data entry on a keyboard.
  • Combination of general office, machine shop, and warehouse environment (no air-conditioning)
  • May require occasional ground travel to other company facilities

The expected hourly range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00.

The offered compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to level of experience, certifications/education, training, and work location.
