Compensation: Hourly rate + Monthly per diem for travel expenses

CSS is seeking a Master Fleet Mechanic to support our client in the space industry in Van Horn, Texas. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience supervising maintenance operations and performing inspections on heavy equipment in compliance with ANSI/OSHA and DOT regulations. This role requires both preventive and corrective maintenance on a range of assets, including motor vehicles, mobile cranes, aerial lifts, earth-moving equipment, and generators.

Key Responsibilities:

Inspections & Preventive Maintenance:



  • Perform heavy equipment inspections per ANSI/OSHA standards.
  • Conduct Annual DOT inspections.
  • Execute planned maintenance according to CMMS schedules set by the client.
  • Maintain and service a variety of assets, including but not limited to:
  • Motor vehicles
  • Telehandlers
  • Aerial lifts
  • Mobile cranes
  • Earth-moving equipment
  • Mobile generators
  • Conduct tire replacements for all vehicles and equipment.


Corrective Maintenance:



  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Perform component replacements and two-person jobs as needed.
  • Implement temporary fixes when required.
  • Service highway vehicles and UTVs (e.g., Polaris Rangers).


Administrative & Compliance Tasks:



  • Complete and update work orders in the client's CMMS system.
  • Organize parts inventory and maintain workspace following 5S principles.
  • Ensure proper record retention in compliance with client policies.


Qualifications & Requirements:



  • 10+ years of supervisory experience as a mechanic.
  • Expertise in heavy equipment inspections and preventive maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of ANSI/OSHA and DOT compliance.
  • Proficiency in CMMS software for tracking and documenting maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.
  • US Persons Only (US Citizens or Lawful Permanent Residents).
