OverviewAplication programming interfaces (API) are the foundation of our connected, digital world. Azure API Management enables companies building APIs to publish, describe, secure, manage and monitor their APIs so that they can focus on providing the functionality their developers want, while we provide them the infrastructure they need. We are looking for a Software Engineer II to support Azure API Management in our Air-Gapped Clouds (AGC). AGC engineers deploy, maintain, and develop code for two sovereign clouds for the US Government in addition to contributing to the codebase for the service in public Azure. While much of our work is done in one of our Secure Work Areas, engineers have the option of regularly working remotely. At Microsoft, engineers are trusted with significant autonomy to develop solutions to serve our customers around the world and to keep our services running securely and reliably. Engineers on this team contribute directly to the codebases that power the services that handle billions of API calls every day.
ResponsibilitiesWe are looking for engineers who feel a sense of ownership with their work, and are eager to learn and grow. The ideal candidate can be productive independently but will contribute to and benefit from a collaborative and diverse team environment both locally and remotely. Success on this team requires adaptability and a willingness to learn new skills. Key responsibilities include:* Manage deployment and buildout of the services* Troubleshoot production issues* Automate manual processes* Support on-call rotations every few months* Write technical support guides, incident post-mortems, deployment documentation, and other types of technical documents* Ensure security and compliance* Collaborate with other Azure teams You will have the opportunity to work with engineers from around the world who have impact on the Azure services they support and on the IT industry at large. You won't be expected to know everything, only to be committed to learning. We seek learn-it-alls, not know-it-alls. |
