About the Role

The Outreach Specialist reports to the Operations Manager at ACRT Inc. This position plays a critical role in supporting Transmission Vegetation Management (TVM) efforts by proactively engaging with key stakeholders, including town officials, conservation commissions, and property owners. This field-based position requires direct interaction with property owners to communicate the scope, purpose, and impact of TVM work, ensuring transparency and addressing concerns efficiently. Responsibilities include conducting on-site outreach, managing inquiries, documenting interactions, and coordinating with internal teams to facilitate smooth project execution. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, knowledge of tree identification and vegetation management, and the ability to navigate sensitive stakeholder discussions with professionalism and efficiency.

What You'll Do

  • As directed by Eversource TVM:

  • Support notification of Town officials

  • Support notification of Conservation Commission and Inland Wetlands

  • Support performing proactive property owner outreach in support of TVM work:

  • In person at property or other designated location

  • By approved door hanger and brochure at property

  • Via phone, email, or text

  • Respond to property owner inquiries in a timely manner (max 2 business days)

  • Participate in project reviews with TVM, Field Oversight and Tree Contractor to understand scope of work and approved access points

  • Proceed down ROW in linear manner to evaluate the extent of the work to be performed on each property based on Eversource TVM specifications

  • Inform property owners of, and respond to, inquiries regarding:

  • Purpose of the TVM work and facilities involved

  • Scope of the TVM work - what work will be performed and where

  • Obtain consent for any work (e.g., hazard trees) and/or unapproved ROW access outside of easement

  • Work methods and equipment that may be used

  • Timely clean-up of work including log or chip retention

  • Potential timeframe of work to commence

  • Discuss and evaluate mitigation requests following Eversource guidelines including, but not limited to stump grinding, seeding, planting

  • Other activities, as directed, based upon ROW Coordination process and participation

  • Create, maintain, and ensure fulfillment of the Non-Regulatory Commitment Matrix to be discussed at Project Meetings and at meetings with all field contractors

  • Follow TVM protocols to document and report all interactions, discussions, requests and complaints with property owners or other stakeholders

  • Provide timely feedback from property owners to TVM and other team members so the team is aware of the property owner's concerns and sensitivities thereby mitigating potential escalation of issues

  • Participate in periodic program and project meetings, as well as ROW work coordination meetings as needed

About You

Must haves:

  • Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Forestry or a related field; or 3-5+ years of Utility Vegetation Management experience in lieu of a degree.

  • Experience: 0-2 years of Utility Vegetation Management experience or a similar field.

Nice to haves:

  • Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Forestry or a related field; or 3-5+ years of Utility Vegetation Management experience in lieu of a degree.

  • Experience: 1-3 years of Transmission Vegetation Management experience and community outreach.

Your Skills:

  • Technical Knowledge:

  • Understanding of tree identification and physiology

  • Familiarity with transmission system operations and vegetation management objectives

  • Knowledge of Eversource TVM specifications, tree work methods, and equipment

  • Awareness of TVM outreach protocols and key messaging

  • Professionalism & Communication:

  • Strong interpersonal and customer-focused communication skills

  • Ability to effectively convey information both verbally and in writing

  • Professional demeanor with a neat and presentable appearance

  • Organizational & Teamwork Skills:

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail

  • Ability to maintain open communication and collaborate effectively with TVM teams, field oversight, project closeout staff, and tree contractors

This role would not be a good fit if:

  • Are not comfortable driving a pickup truck or 4x4 off-road vehicle

SalaryRange Disclaimer

The basesalaryrange represents the low and high end of the ACRT salaryrange for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited tocustomer contact terms,location,experience, and performance. Other rewards may include Paid Time Off, 401(k) retirement savings plan with company match, ESOP contributions, medical, dental, and vision insurance, and other region-specific benefits as eligible.

For applicants residing inMassachusetts, thesalaryrange for this role is from $25 minto $27 max.
