Job Summary:
|
The person in this position will assist Cardiology Research Faculty and Primary Investigators (PIs) with developing regulatory aspects of grant proposals particularly for randomized controlled trials and multi-center studies. Some functions include contracts and grants solicitation and administration, grant/agreement preparation, review and negotiation, regulatory compliance, sponsor communication and post and pre-award management. The person chosen for this role will also support Research based Educational Lectures and Activities for the Division of Cardiology on an as needed basis. Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in program/project budget development processes and regularly reviews to ensure alignment.
- Create proposals in InfoEd system and submit for internal review and approval.
- After reviewing Office of Grants and Contracts markup, edit proposals and gather final documents from Principal Investigator. Ensures adherence to internal and funding agency guidelines.
- Submit final proposal to the Office of Grants and Contracts (OGC) for submission to sponsor no later than internal OGC and sponsors deadline.
- Responsible for the coordination of all follow-up responses to the proposal and requests for action in the ERA commons (e.g. Just-In-Time, Conflict of Interest, Statements of Appointments, Final Invention Statement).
- Prepare sponsor and institutional forms prior to submission deadlines, including assurance numbers, internal and external budgets, F&A calculations, compliance documentation, sub-recipient agreements for subcontracts, scope of work documents, and budget justifications.
- Participates and/or assists in special projects, and performs other associated administrative duties, as assigned by Dr. Tim McKinsey.
- Sets up itineraries for recruits and visiting faculty for the research faculty.
- Assists with managing calendars and scheduling meetings as needed for Dr. Tim McKinsey.
- Ordering office and lab supplies including large purchases that acquire University approval.
- Prepare and process expense reimbursements for Dr. Tim McKinsey and his lab.

Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:
|
Minimum Qualifications: Entry Level:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in public administration, social/behavioral sciences, physical sciences, finance, accounting, business administration, or business college.
Intermediate Level:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in public administration, social/behavioral sciences, physical sciences, finance, accounting, business administration, or business college.
- One (1) year of grants management, pre-award and/or post-award experience.
A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis. Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. Preferred Qualifications:
- One (1) or more years of progressively responsible administrative experience, including grant and contract administration.
- Experience with Info Ed Proposal Development System or similar grant or contract submission software.
- Experience working in an academic medical center.
- Experience with NIH and pre-award grant submissions.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively in a timely manner, both in writing and orally.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Ability to produce accurate and timely work products.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise appropriate discretion with information.

Anticipated Pay Range:
|
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as: Entry Level: $48,071 - $61,146 Intermediate Level: $52,312 - $66,541 The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level. Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck.
