Job Summary:
Under General Supervision, receives, sorts, temporarily stores and delivers items received at the dock. Checks delivered items against PO, enters receipt in financial system, enters packages in receiving system, delivers to appropriate locations and obtains signature. Assists with delivery of lab gas tanks when necessary.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Receive items from various carriers and freight companies. Ensure delivered items match packing list and there is no visible damage to items. Take photos and document any damage to items being received.
- Enter deliveries into the package receiving system, sort and organize items by department and delivery route. Document any exceptions.
- Deliver items to proper location or move to temporary storage. Obtain signature upon delivery.
- Electronically file all receiving documents, including the packing slip and shipment bill of landing (BOL).
- Assist Lab Services with receipt and delivery of gas tanks.
- Provide customer service over the phone and at the dock service window.
- Maintains dock areas in a neat and orderly manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, computer literate, high organizational skills, excellent work ethic.
Minimum Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities.)
- Attention to detail, customer focused, ability to work well with team members, punctual, good attendance record, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, ability to use pallet jacks to move potentially heavy items. Ability to use push carts to move multiple items to various locations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Some college or similar work experience, proficient with Microsoft programs.
Preferred Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities)
- Ability to operate forklift, familiarity with NU's financial system, some knowledge of the Hazardous Communication Standard.
Target hiring range for this position will be between $19.89-$24.86 per hour. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
