We are looking for a full-time postdoctoral research associate within the Molecular Diagnostic Research Laboratory at the Institute for Sensory Neuroscience Research at Boys Town National Research Hospital. The focus of our laboratory is to discover new biomarkers for childhood and adult diseases for the development of noninvasive diagnostic and prognostic tests. Molecular Diagnostic laboratory has state-of-the-art equipment for biomedical research such as Next Generation DNA sequencing and droplet digital PCR systems. Previous research experience in Next generation DNA sequencing, bioinformatics and human genetic test development will be given preference. Postdoctoral research fellows work under the same general guidelines and receive the same compensation as NIH-funded postdoctoral trainees.
Successful candidates will have a PhD in biomedical sciences, molecular biology, microbiology, or a related field, with an excellent publication record for their career stage. They will join a vibrant and rapidly growing group of molecular biologists in Omaha using state-of-the-art equipment and resources, with significant opportunities within the Institute for career development and promotion to faculty. Performs work of unusual difficulty in the design, development and implementation of a research program important to the mission of BTNRH, using existing laboratory space and facilities. Participates in collaborative research projects with other members of the research and clinical staff. Assist the Director of the research laboratory in securing grant funds to retain this position.
