Job Summary:
Join the School of Nursing's Academic Affairs team as an Academic Advising Manager! In this pivotal role, you will be at the heart of student success, overseeing the daily management of programs, services, and activities that empower pre-nursing students to thrive. You will provide comprehensive advising to pre-nursing undergraduate students while collaborating closely with our dedicated advising team. You will foster seamless communication and support by actively engaging with university departments, educational institutions, the community, and external agencies. As an integral part of our passionate advising and student services team, you will help foster an inclusive and thriving community for students, faculty, and staff from all backgrounds. Responsibilities: Engages students in decision making processes and promotes appropriate and responsible choices on academic matters, such as course selection and degree requirements. Maintains appropriate confidentiality, updates student advising records, and contributes to the development of academic advising related programming. Works to ensure students receive accurate, timely, and holistic advising services in support of promoting student success, retention, and program completion. Supervises unit staff and/or manages an advising services portfolio and strives to create a welcoming, equitable, and inclusive work environment.
