Intern, Audiology - Clinical Product Research (Onsite)

The Clinical Product Research Intern will be responsible for assisting in the clinical evaluation of new-to-world Advanced Bionics products and in conveying the CI recipient and clinician perspectives to the development process. The role involves implementing protocols to test pre-market products, conducting hands-on audiological-based subject evaluations and documenting the outcomes of clinical evaluations. These activities provide feedback to the organization regarding product readiness, performance, and usability. Research interns also assist in collecting customer feedback on early concepts and designs, while contributing to market research, and developing content that supports the training and use of new products in the field.

Responsibilities:



  • Evaluate product complaints to determine reportability based on FDA and event country requirements and manage reportable events through to closure.
  • Generate and submit medical device incident reports in accordance with FDA and event country requirements.
  • Guide other functions on required content for reportable incidents in order to ensure all reporting requirements are met.
  • Assist in technical reviews and analysis of data required by regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with product post market approval requirements.
  • Assist in updating existing systems and procedures to align with changes in regulatory requirements.
  • Provides general administrative support such as maintaining the departmental databases or documentation and attending and documenting audits.
  • Develop and implement post market surveillance processes and procedures.
  • Collaborate with engineering, risk management, operations, clinical, quality, and regulatory functions on post market surveillance inputs/reviews.
  • Other duties as assigned.

More about you:

Education



  • Bachelor's degree in communication disorders, acoustics or a related speech and hearing science field


Nice to Have



  • Advanced degree in Audiology or current enrollment in an AuD/PhD program



Work Experience



  • Minimum one year of audiology practicum experience


Nice to Have



  • Knowledge of current research practices, CI & hearing aid fittings, bone conduction devices and/or objective measures

A minimum of 200Mb/sec download and 10Mb/sec upload speed internet connectivity is required to support any remote/hybrid employee functionality at Sonova

This role's pay range is between $25.00/hr (based on location).
