Your Role on the Team

Position Summary:

The Director of Revenue Analysis for UCI Health Placentia Linda is responsible for direction and leadership of revenue cycle and patient access. This includes oversight of patient registration, securing authorization and collections, leads denial prevention task force and maximize net revenue. The DRA is also responsible for establishing, meeting and continuously monitoring the goals and strategies of the hospital's AR and collections. Reporting to the hospital CFO, the duties of this role are but not limited to: Patient Access
* Provides leadership oversight for the Patient Access team to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and competency in all functions within the department
* Fosters and promotes a culture of service excellence and accountability.
* Formulates objectives, goals and strategies collaboratively with other stakeholders
* Acts as a mentor for the Patient Access Manager to promote their growth and success in the enterprise Revenue Analysis
* Works with hospital departments to resolve revenue cycle (e.g., orders, charging, registration, billing edits, disputes) and admissions issues, including the analysis of bad debt and item/trends that significantly impact net revenue.
* Identifies opportunities for enhancement of revenue capture and denials/dispute prevention processes, conducting root-cause analyses to implement best practices on facility-upstream processes (front-to-back) and correct any operating barriers hindering maximization of cash flow.
* Prepares and analyzes revenue review for month-end close
* Identifies and escalates payors behaviors to senior leadership for timely decision making.

Required Qualifications:

  • Three (3) to five (5) years Management in a Revenue Cycle or Acute Health Care environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and management abilities
  • Ability to manage a budget
  • Proficiency in Regulatory requirements
  • Thorough knowledge of Insurance
  • Ability to Delegate successfully
  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or above
  • Extensive knowledge of Patient Access and Revenue Cycle desired
  • Certified Healthcare Access Manager (CHAM) preferred.
  • Able to work in sitting position, use computer and answer telephone
  • Ability to walk through hospital-based departments across broad campus settings, including Emergency Department environments
  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
