POSITION DESCRIPTION

An Entry Level Environmental Engineer/Geologist/Scientist at SET Engineering is responsible to:




  • Assist project managers in execution of project work on time and within budget





  • Perform field work consisting of SPCC inspections, soil, groundwater, and soil vapor sampling





  • Complete environmental investigation activities such as overseeing drilling activities, logging soil, and installing and developing groundwater monitoring wells





  • Complete Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments.





  • Evaluate environmental data comparing data to state or federal clean-up standards





  • Complete stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPPs)for commercial and industrial clients





  • Prepare spill prevention, control and countermeasure plans (SPCC) for commercial and industrial clients





  • Provide environmental expertise for new projects and project improvements





  • Lead continuous improvement efforts and assess management of change requirements





  • Provide environmental field service support with a variety of projects including confined space entry, environmental remediation, waterway/emergency response, hazardous materials clean up





POSITION REQUIREMENTS




  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Geology, Science or related discipline





  • Experience in Environmental Engineering field a plus





  • Excellent communication, both verbal and written, as well as organizational skills





  • Ability to interact professionally and independently within the company and with the customer, vendors, and associates





  • Must be flexible to work different hours as needed by the department/business





  • Willingness and ability to work outdoors in sometimes challenging conditions performing physical labor as needed





  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)





  • Knowledge of government environmental compliance regulations and procedures





  • Ability to respond to out-of-town projects as needed (25%-50%)





  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training preferred





  • EIT, GIT preferred





  • Must pass a local, state, and federal background check





  • Must pass DOT physical including drug and alcohol screening
