Position Highlights |
This 4-H Extension Assistant II position will develop, deliver, and administer educational and community programs for 4-H audiences under the direction of the 4-H Agent. They will plan, develop, coordinate, and implement community-oriented programs focused on meeting community needs and improving life skills. This position will deliver content, programs, materials, and technology solutions, as needed, to support the 4-H club program. This position will assist 4-H Faculty in handling problems and non-routine situations in the Cochise County 4-H program by determining the approach or action to take and interpreting guidelines, procedures, policies, and practices. The successful candidate must be a self-starter and be able to effectively communicate verbally, via email, voicemail, and social media as well as in writing and in person.

Duties & Responsibilities |
- Primary outreach arm of the University, which deals with the educational advancement of the community in 4-H Youth Development.
- Responsible for the delivery of Extension programs (4-H Youth Development) to the Arizona communities at large, typically hosting meetings and informational sessions.
- Utilizes online, virtual, and digital programming to develop and deliver specialized content and support the 4-H Youth Development program goals and objectives.
- Responsible for recruiting, training, and supporting new 4-H volunteers by employing innovative approaches to expand 4-H programs to underserved audiences throughout the county.
- Engage with the community to build awareness of 4-H programming through public events and youth engagement activities.
- Assist faculty to evaluate program effectiveness, develop improved methods; devise evaluation methodology and implement; analyze results and recommend and/or take appropriate action.
- Responsible for collecting annual program metrics, management of club renewal and financial information.
- Position will include working with volunteers on periodic reports, financial statements and records on program activities, progress, status, or other special reports for program management.
- Develop and promote program advertising, coordinate logistics, scheduling, and participant communications.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively with different groups/individuals.
- Skilled at maintaining flexibility and adapting creatively to meet program requirements when met with barriers.
- Capable of working semi-independently and taking initiative to move forward with program activities.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends when needed.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) and Adobe (Acrobat, Express, etc.).
- Ability to build partnerships with other professionals and organizations.
- Ability to move or transport 4-H materials.

Minimum Qualifications |
- High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience required.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Experience working with diverse volunteers and youth.
- Must have a valid driver's license and ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.
