Loan Officer at AgTrust Farm Credit

AgTrust Farm Credit is seeking a full-time Loan Officer in our Sherman, TX office. You will be responsible for identifying potential borrowers, cultivating lasting relationships, and guiding clients through the loan origination process. This includes evaluating financial information, making lending decisions within authorized limits, and complying with established policies and procedures to maintain high-quality credit relationships for the bank. Your position represents AgTrust to the public. You will assist in AgTrust's local effort to be the preferred provider of agricultural financial services.

Day-to-day Duties:



  • Responsible for developing and marketing new business within their service area by identifying and engaging with prospects out in the communities within the assigned territory/region.
  • Attends public relations functions for the Association.
  • Assists prospective and current borrowers with their credit needs and with formulating solutions to credit related issues.
  • Makes and services leases, loans for operating equipment and real estate, and offering other related services such as cash management products within delegated authority and in accordance with association policies. Makes and/or conveys decisions on loan approval, structure, and pricing. Responsible for exercising credit risk management responsibilities on loans within area of responsibility.
  • Conducts simple to moderately complex credit analyses. Analyzes balance sheets, income statements, and cash flows of potential borrowers to ascertain creditworthiness. Maintains current, adequate, and verified financial information on borrowers and guarantors as required by association policy.
  • Performs loan servicing tasks, which may include partial releases, subordinations to mineral leases and right of ways, division orders, re-amortizations, assumptions, severance agreements, insurance claims, additional advances, extensions, and conversions within delegated authority.
  • Ensures that all assigned loans are properly risk rated, assigned loss given defaults are correct and performance status assignments.
  • Complies with proper credit administration practices as outlined in the association's policies and procedures.
  • Performs collections on assigned loans and assists senior-level staff and management with collections on all loans in the portfolio. Works with delinquent borrowers to obtain satisfactory loan performance.
  • Assures that adequate insurance coverage is maintained as required by loan conditions and monitors ad valorem taxes to ensure that such taxes are paid on the security.
  • Facilitates the loan closing process as required in accordance with all applicable association policies and regulations.


Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Agricultural Economics or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • General knowledge of accounting/financial systems.
  • Specialized knowledge accounting/finance principles.
  • Intermediate software skills to include Microsoft Office or similar software and accounting software.
  • Ability to perform basic to intermediate-level accounting/financial analyses under moderate supervision.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills (oral and written) required.
  • Customer service orientation and a commitment to providing outstanding client service.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team to build relationships and interact effectively with business partners.
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency in organizing and prioritizing work to meet deadlines, with the ability to adapt within a changing environment.
  • Must have sound judgment and discretional skills and be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be to work with sensitive and confidential material with discretion and confidentiality.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
  • Must have an acceptable driving record, valid, driver's license, vehicle insurance and a reliable vehicle.
