System Designer for Range & Consumption

The System Designer for Range & Consumption is responsible for:



  • Leading the evaluation of energy consumption, acceleration performance, capability (e.g. trailer tow) and drivability for new electrified powertrains and vehicles using computer modeling techniques and test data analysis
  • The System Designer analyzes architectures and concepts to achieve functional requirements
  • Creating models to analyze the performance of these concepts relative to requirements
  • Conducting first principles analysis, development of detailed models, simulation using these models, analysis of the simulation results and draws conclusions from the simulation
  • Communicating the results in oral presentations and written reports to Chief Engineers, COEs, Component Engineers and others including Propulsion Systems management

Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechatronics or a closely related engineering degree from an ABET accredited university
  • 5+ years of engineering experience
  • Self-starter with strong leadership, communication skills, and demonstrated problem solving ability
  • Understanding of manufacturing and quality processes of electrical components
  • Knowledge Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a closely related engineering degree from an ABET accredited University
  • Components releasing experience
  • Experienced in validating and releasing of Electric Components for Automotive applications
  • Knowledge in electrified powertrain propulsion systems
  • Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) Green / Black-Belt
  • Knowledgeable in use of Team Center with experience in NX in a production release environment
