What The Role is:

As an Information Security Engineer, you will design and implement IT security systems to protect the organization's computer networks from cyber attacks. You will also help develop organization-wide best practices for IT security. The Security Engineer will have responsibility for an assortment of duties related to the protection and security of data including analysis of controls, participating and/or leading remediation efforts, assisting with data classification and data vetting activities, monitoring and responding to data events, and participating and/or leading key management and data encryption projects. Additional attributes required for success include a strong customer service focus, professionalism, versatile product, and process subject matter expertise, responsiveness, taking ownership, effective communication, and can effectively identify risk.

How You will Make an Impact:



  • Assist with the development, monitoring, and reporting of metrics and stats related to data protection and associated controls
  • Assist lines of business (LOB) with identifying and developing solutions for data masking and data sanitization
  • Work with business and technology personnel to ensure that database protection controls are implemented and monitored
  • Assist with the research, development, implementation, and monitoring of data loss prevention (DLP) controls for cloud applications, email, mobile devices, and other technologies
  • Design and implement technical security protection standards (such as data disposition, data classification, and encryption) for systems involved in processing sensitive data
  • Ability to work closely with InfoSec & IAM team on the incoming Level 2 requests
  • Provide reporting of security controls and access for audits and exams as needed



Who You Are:



  • An ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years experience in a data Engineer role working with Data Access Governance, Scan reporting and/or Data Discovery tools
  • 2+ years in Finance sector security experience or other regulated industry
  • 2+ years experience working with and designing Microsoft and/or Google Infrastructure
  • Working knowledge in data and system security techniques and tools
  • Understanding of network administration, TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, routers, and other computer networking concepts
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policies, and ability to troubleshoot issues.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills required
  • Project management experience is a plus
  • Security+, CISSP, or cloud certifications are preferred
