Manchester - Maintenance Tech I

This position focuses on maintaining the appearance of our facility, keeping all equipment serviced and in working condition. The work consists of PM and repair work, facility improvement and lot maintenance, as well as painting, plumbing, carpentry, and fabricating. Other duties may be assigned which includes assisting in various duties to support the operation of the facility.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Maintain and make repairs to the facility as necessary to include painting, masonry, carpentry, and plumbing. Perform basic electrical work and assist experienced technicians as directed with more complicated work
  • Perform preventative maintenance
  • Track repairs, labor time, and parts/materials used for work order entry
  • Assist other technicians to troubleshoot and repair all warehouse and material handling equipment as necessary
  • Maintain the grounds including irrigation and snow removal
  • Industrial battery watering and maintenance
  • Participate in periodic internal and external audits
  • Occasional travel for outside training or meetings
  • Applies lean thinking and tools to identify and eliminate waste in all areas of the position.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Physically able to access all areas of the facility for installation and repair of equipment and to lift 50lbs
  • Sufficient hearing and vision necessary to safely operate powered equipment
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills. Computer literate
  • Good mechanical aptitude and ability/willingness to learn new skills
  • Commitment to perform duties in a safe manner

YOU MAY ALSO HAVE


  • Previous experience maintaining equipment and facilities
  • Familiarity with warehouse equipmentFamiliarity with warehouse equipment

ROLE SPECIFICS


  • Temperature extremes from -10 degrees to100 plus degrees

  • Work in situations where human error could result in serious financial loss or personal injury\
  • Extensive standing/walking on concrete floors and working at heights
  • Subject to being in an on-call rotation and occasional holiday work
