Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated professional with a passion for talent development who will play a key role in fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs that enhance staff skills, support organizational goals, and comply with OPWDD regulations. This role requires an innovative approach to training and development, ensuring that learning experiences are engaging, accessible, and impactful. Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Prior experience as an instructor in mandated agency training courses (e.g., CPR, SCIP-R, OPWDD New Employee Orientation)
- Primary responsibility is classroom instruction applying knowledge of various learning styles.
- Participate in new training and special training projects as developed.
- Use multimedia to present to an audience including PowerPoints, videos, and computer modules.
- Manage and update training content on the Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring accessibility and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Ensure all training programs align with OPWDD, state, and federal regulations, incorporating compliance requirements into staff development initiatives.
- Participate in distribution of electronic records and distribution of materials, as necessary.
- Schedule training sessions and facilities for internal and external training as directed by Management
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Education or degree in Health or Human Services required.
- Or, equivalent combination of education and experience in LMS, adult learning, or workforce development will be considered.
- Experience in working in an agency that supports individuals with intellectual disabilities is a strong plus
Qualifications
- Knowledge of OPWDD regulatory training requirements, including SCIP-R, abuse prevention, and incident reporting procedures.
- Knowledge of the DSP Code of Ethics and Core Competencies.
- Bi-lingual a plus (Spanish)
- Knowledge of the DSP Code of Ethics and Core Competencies.

- Experience with adult learning theories, and e-learning development tools is a plus.
- Excellent oral presentation and facilitation skills and a sound understanding of positive coaching techniques.
- Willingness to travel to multiple sites
- Proficiency in MS Office applications including but not limited to Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to conduct multiple tasks effectively and efficiently and ability to work as a team member, as well as independently.
- Strong relationship with management and the ability to build relationships.
- Strong writing and communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
