About the Role:

As a Technical Insider Risk Investigator, you will analyze and respond to anomalous activities, promote a security-first culture, and work collaboratively across teams to proactively address risks. Your expertise will safeguard OpenAI's mission, ensuring the secure development of transformative AI technologies that serve societal interests.

You'll make an impact at OpenAI by:

  • Lead comprehensive investigations into suspicious activities and collaborate closely with legal, HR, and other stakeholders to address findings.

  • Partner with multidisciplinary teams to identify and resolve visibility gaps, enhancing overall risk management processes.

  • Design, implement, and oversee data loss prevention (DLP) controls to safeguard sensitive information.

  • Develop, implement, and fine-tune detection rules, alerts, and response playbooks to identify and mitigate insider threats across the organization's systems and data.

  • Leverage security tools (e.g., SIEM, EDR, and UEBA platforms) to build and maintain threat detection pipelines, focusing on anomalous user behavior, data exfiltration, and unauthorized access patterns indicative of insider risk.

  • Produce high-quality investigative reports, assessments, and briefings for senior management and other stakeholders.

You may be a fit for this role if you have:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.

  • Professional Experience: 5+ years in insider threat analysis, cybersecurity, or a related domain, with a proven track record of mitigating internal risks.

  • Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) platforms and User Behavior Analytics tools.

  • Communication Skills: Ability to convey complex security issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders with clarity and impact.

  • Collaborative Mindset: A team player who thrives in cross-functional environments and values diverse perspectives.
