Zayo is seeking a high-impact Director of Performance Management & Development who will drive a culture of continuous growth, engagement and high performance. The Director of Performance Management & Development will lead and evolve our performance management framework, annual goal setting, zConnects, career paths and talent development programs while designing, implementing, scaling and delivering impactful, interactive training programs. The Director of Performance Management & Development will focus on talent retention that aligns with our strategic initiatives of empowering, connecting and evolving our people and will lead, engage, and develop a high performing team.

To achieve these goals, we are looking for a dynamic leader who is bold, embodies our values and inclusive culture, and delivers excellence with agility and integrity. This professional will be a skilled talent leader, communicator and facilitator, with experience in balancing delivering solutions while leading programs, and is a systems thinker with the skills to simplify complex issues, analyze and provide data driven recommendations, and build talent solutions to meet the needs of the business.

This Director of Performance Management & Development will also be responsible for overseeing enhancements and strategies to our Workday's Performance and Learning modules, Leadership Essentials program, LinkedIn Learning, Talent Suite and authoring tools. This role requires a strategic thinker who leverages data-driven insights to improve talent outcomes, champions digital solutions to streamline performance and learning, and fosters a strong leadership pipeline through succession planning, mentorship, and talent suite initiatives.

*We're open to this position working in a hybrid capacity out of our Denver, CO office (1401 Wynkoop).

Responsibilities:

Strategy & Leadership:

  • Support Zayo's Identity and culture by living our values and integrating into training and development.

  • Lead, manage, engage, and partner with a high-performing team.

  • Evolve the company's performance management and development approach aligned with organizational goals.

  • Drive the adoption of digital tools to enhance performance management and learning experiences.

  • Partner with HRIS and IT teams to optimize Workday functionality and integrate AI-driven career development and learning features.

  • Partner with HRBP's and senior leadership to assess organizational needs and ensure talent development initiatives support 5+ year strategic plan.

  • Create scalable solutions that optimize workflows, enhance decision-making processes, and strengthen team structures, ensuring the organization is agile, resilient, and prepared for future growth.

  • Stay ahead of industry trends and best practices in learning and development.

  • Maintain and manage relationship with training and development vendors.

Performance Management:

  • Lead the annual performance management review, goal setting and ongoing zConnect (3x a year discussion) processes and ensure they align with organizational objectives and drive accountability, development and high performance.

  • Develop leader proficiency in managing talent performance.

  • Drive enhancements to Workday's performance module to improve user experience and engagement.

  • Partner with HRBP and business leaders to ensure calibration processes, ratings, and feedback discussions are effective.

  • Develop a continuous learning and development framework that encourages skill-building and professional growth.

Learning and Career Development:

  • Provide learning and development opportunities to attract and retain exceptional talent, advance skills, and supports individualized career paths to prepare Zayoites for their next role within the organization.

  • Create and facilitate virtual, in-person, hybrid, and video-recorded training, job aides, and discussion sessions.

  • Drive enhancements to Workday's Learning module to improve user experience and engagement.

  • Design and lead the implementation of training programs that are interactive, engaging and support employee growth, leadership development, and career mobility.

  • Develop and enhance career pathing frameworks to help employees navigate career progression.

  • Manage the LMS system, ensuring effective delivery and tracking of training programs.

  • Oversee cross functional Training Liaison Cohort.

Succession Planning & Talent Development:

  • Design and implement succession planning strategies to build a strong leadership pipeline, identify gaps and promote internal mobility.

  • Develop mentorship programs to facilitate knowledge sharing, employee growth and retention and career acceleration.

  • Collaborate with HRBPs and leadership to identify and nurture high potential talent.

Metrics & Analytics

  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and goals for core programs and processes to measure the impact of performance and development programs.

  • Provide data-driven insights and reporting on performance trends, talent mobility, and program effectiveness.

  • Partner with stakeholders to inform strategic planning.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Talent Management, Organizational Development or a related field or equivalent work experience in lieu of education required.

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive experience in training/learning/leadership/talent development, human resources, organization development or similar roleand minimum of six (6) years of experience in a leadership or managerial capacity.

  • Proficiency in using Workday for performance and learning management preferred.

  • Experience with Learning Management Systems, e-learning platforms, and training content organization is required.

  • Proven expertise in designing and implementing impactful, engaging training programs.

  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills across the all levels of the organization including executives, with virtual facilitation experience. Presents ideas, expectations, and information in a concise, well-organized and engaging manner.

  • Proficient in Google and MS Office suite of tools with emphasis on PowerPoints, & Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Calendar is required.

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills and possess strong content writing ability and creativity.

  • In-depth knowledge of leadership and organizational development best practices and the latest insights.

  • Strong critical thinking, adaptability to change, analytical, strategic, collaborative, and project management skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to communicate, build relationships, and manage well at all levels of the organization.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage complex projects, balance and respond to competing priorities and see priorities through from inception through completion, and ability to navigate ambiguity and thrive in a fast - paced environment.

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, using date and metrics to drive improvements and communicating results to senior leadership.

  • Comfortable managing ambiguity and being resourceful.

  • The ability to lead others in implementing change and bring new ideas and perspectives to the team.

  • Passion for developing people and building a high- performing culture.

Estimated base pay: $125,000 - $178,600 USD/annually.

The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role. It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Non- sales roles may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive plan. Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan.

Additionally, this position may be eligible for certain benefits, such as health insurance, life insurance, disability retirement plans, paid time off.
