Job Title: Staff Accountant (Transactional Focus) Fort Worth, TX - onsite One of Vaco's quickly growing PE backed clients is looking to fill a newly created role on the team! Compensation:$75-85k + bonus Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Staff Accountant to handle transactional accounting tasks within our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the day-to-day operations of the accounting department. This is a hands-on role requiring a strong understanding of accounting processes and a focus on timely and accurate transaction recording. Key Responsibilities: Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, ensuring proper coding and documentation. Reconcile bank and credit card statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies. Process journal entries for routine and recurring transactions. Assist in the preparation and analysis of month-end and year-end closing entries. Ensure proper recording of transactions in the general ledger. Monitor and resolve discrepancies in vendor and customer accounts. Review and process expense reports for accuracy and compliance with company policies. Assist with payroll processing and related reconciliations as needed. Maintain and update financial records in accounting software. Support the preparation of financial reports by providing transactional data and reconciliations. Ensure timely payment of invoices and adherence to payment schedules. Participate in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and transaction records. Assist with ad-hoc accounting and administrative tasks as required. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred). 1-3 years of accounting experience with a focus on transactional work (accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations). Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word). Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial transactions. Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills to interact with vendors, customers, and internal departments. Preferred Skills: Experience with ERP systems. Understanding of sales tax reporting and compliance. Previous experience in a transactional-focused accounting role.
