Engineering Intern Deer Island Treatment Plant Winthrop, MA The MWRA Deer Island Engineering Department has an opening for a summer internship. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists with inspection of new plant process equipment for conformance to plans and specifications.
- Verify plant installations are consistent with facility as-built drawings.
- Performs basic engineering calculations to select new equipment.
- Assists with construction field oversight.
- The preferred candidates will be at least a junior in a college degree program in electrical or mechanical engineering.
- Assist with inspection of construction work performed by contractors to insure compliance with the plans and specifications.
- Assist with inspection of materials delivered to construction sites to verify compliance with specifications and approved submittals.
- Assist performing basic engineering calculations (e.g. / electrical conductor and conduit sizing, pressure and flow for piping and pumping systems, etc.).
- Assist with preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
- Perform related duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a valid driver's license.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
- Works under the general supervision of a Sr. Program Manager.

- Work Location: MWRA, Deer Island Treatment Plant, 190 Tafts Ave, Boston, MA.
- Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00AM to 3:00PM.
- Time Frame: May - August.
