Knight Boat Docks manufactures dock ramps, custom docks and custom fabricated aluminum parts. Our philosophy is to do the best job the first time. Knight Boat Docks offers the marina-grade Knight Dock, the river-ready Knight SK Marine Pontoon Dock, and is the distributor of the EZ Dock product line throughout the Pacific Northwest, Montana, Utah, Alaska, Hawaii, Northern California and Canada.

MATERIAL HANDLER

To be successful in this position, a person must perform the job duties and responsibilities listed below while maintaining a positive, solution-oriented working relationship with coworkers, vendors and customers. The job requires an organized time manager with an ability to communicate verbally and in writing, work under minimal supervision, in a fast pace environment. This position requires a high skill level in safely operating a forklift and must provide a high level of customer service to internal and external customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

These duties are those typically performed in this position. Employee may not perform all the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties.



  • Operates forklift, performing duties for internal and external customers as well as vendors
  • Perform receiving functions of Unloading, Counting and Inspecting incoming materials
  • Identify and report inventory discrepancies
  • Organize and maintain inventory
  • Perform inventory Cycle Counts
  • Stock production area with materials
  • Work with other departments to resolve material issues
  • Demonstrate safety first work ethic
  • Accept and support continuous improvement
  • Perform Forklift safety inspections
  • Prompt follow up on open items
  • Work within and promote corporate vision, mission, and values of the organization
  • Perform other duties as assigned



REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND EDUCATION

The following generally describes the knowledge and ability required to enter the job and/or learned within a short period of time to successfully perform the assigned duties.



  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years experience operating a forklift required
  • Ability to perform basic math, read a tape measure, use computer and lift heavy items
  • General understanding of computers, and printers
  • Friendly, personable and effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Must be able to meet all safety requirements for applicable safety policies



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to lift/carry 50+ lbs. regularly
  • Lifting from ground level, waist level, and/or overhead
  • Frequent standing, walking, pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, crouching/squatting, crawling up to 8+ hours per day
  • Climbing and maintaining balance on ladders or stools reaching in all directions
  • Handling and manipulating objects and materials
  • Coordinating the movements of eyes, hands and fingers
  • Seeing with or without correction
  • Must be able to work in different outdoor climates (heat, rain, snow, etc.) 50% of the time
