Propulsion System On Board Diagnostics Calibration Engineer

The Stellantis Propulsion On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) Calibration Engineer has the opportunity to develop diagnostic calibrations that meet all regulatory, safety, quality and service requirements. The Candidate will have the responsibility to assure that appropriate testing is defined, planned, and completed to fully validate all diagnostic features, serve as the leader for leading cross-functional teams to determine root cause and solutions for development, fast feedback, and customer vehicle diagnostic issues, will work with a variety of conventional and electrified transmissions that require a diverse set of technical skills to effectively lead their assigned programs. The Candidate will also guide instrumentation of electrical and physical systems, utilize and review data from acquisition software (INCA) to ensure that desired diagnostic behavior is achieved. The engineer will also gather functional requirements as well as required milestones to plan and execute development to achieve on-time successful product launches. The candidate should expect to travel 2-4 weeks throughout the year for system validation/verification.
Basic Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related degree field
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in OBD Propulsion/Engine calibration or controls
  • Desire to work both in and out of test vehicles
  • Proficient using INCA, Matlab and Simulink/Stateflow
  • Understanding of the goals of On-Board Diagnostics
  • Functional understanding of transmission design and operation
  • Basic proficiency with the major purpose & components in an electrified propulsion system
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and business acumen
  • Self-motivated/proactive with strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to operate both independently and as part of a team
  • Basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and database applications


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Master's in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • 7 years' experience in OBD calibration, propulsion system component calibration, OBD or propulsion controls within the electric, gasoline or diesel industry
  • INCA, Matlab, Simulink, Stateflow, Minitab, C++ and Visual Basic experience
