JOB TITLE: Lift Maintenance Electrician POSITION TYPE: Year-round, Full-time PAY RATE: starts at $20/hr - DOE and Qualifications SUPERVISORY: NO SUPERVISED BY: Lift Maintenance Manager POSITION SUMMARY: Supports the Lift Maintenance Manager and Mountain Operations Director with overseeing the electrical maintenance, design and troubleshooting of all ski lifts. Plans, directs and coordinates lift electrical functions by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Responsible for maintaining lift and other mountain electrical systems including chairlift control and drive systems, distribution centers, transformers, power, lighting and heaters. Executing scheduled annual, monthly, weekly and daily maintenance on chairlift electrical and mechanical equipment. Maintain, repair and assist with lift electrical equipment by completing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions and performing training to operators. Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operations; listening form problems; and checking for issues. Responding to and determining cause of lift electrical problems with public on board and implementing solutions by repairing or correcting Lift Operator error, explaining problem and solution to operator. Response and correction to be completed as quickly and safely as possible with the public's safety, and your own safety being the highest priority. Implementing and ensuring compliance with all Company and State safety policies and procedures. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Must have or develop extensive knowledge of Schweitzer Mountain Resort facilities and operations. Work collaboratively with other departments to achieve company goals. Will work with regulatory agencies, insurers, and contractors as necessary. Will represent Schweitzer at regional/national industry events as necessary. Responsibilities are listed as guidelines and the position is not necessarily limited to these items. JOB SPECIFICATIONS: SKILLS: Must be able to read electrical schematics and understand symbols and many different manufacturer schematic layouts. Must maintain OSHA requirements, as well as the National Electric Codes. Must be able to use test equipment to troubleshoot all types of electrical systems. Must be able to climb chairlift towers wearing a fall protection harness, while carrying tools, to troubleshoot/repair equipment and electrical issues at heights up to 70 feet while chairlift is running. Must have working knowledge of electrical and electronic control/sensor devices and their functions, testing and installation. Must be able to operate a snowmobile, with public on mountain safely and resp0nd to stopped lift issues quickly and efficiently in all types of snow conditions. EDUCATION: High School Diploma. 2 years Technical School preferred. EXPERIENCE: 5 years lift electrical and maintenance experience required. Working knowledge of all types of electrical equipment including AC motors and motor control. AC variable speed drives, DC motors, DC variable speed drives, battery powered low voltage 24VDC controls. Familiarity with analog, digital and PLC controls interfacing low and high voltage systems to operate ski lifts and snowmaking systems. Troubleshooting skills using electrical testing equipment to diagnose problems. Knowledge of ski lift electrical operation and controls. Familiarity with National Electrical Code and Idaho Ski Safety statutes and ANSII B.77 code. LICENSES: Valid, insurable driver's license. Prefer NDT and other job-relevant certifications. |
