Part Straightener
Monday - Friday 6:00 am to 2:30 pm
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Part Straightener to join our team in Kent, WA. The Part Straightener will be responsible for inspecting and straightening metal parts to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. This role requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Essential Functions:


  • Manually straighten parts; round out ends or remove surface blemishes (e.g., scratches, gouges, nicks, dents), using shop aid blocks, hammers, sandpaper, as required.
  • Reading, comprehending, and ability to follow work order instructions.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Work in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Keep work area clean at all times, including machine surfaces.
  • Read work orders to determine specifications, such as materials to be used, locations of bend lines, or dimensions and tolerances; Ensure parts meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Document work and maintain accurate records.
  • Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain them over time.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency.


Required Skills & Abilities:


  • Ability to identify potential issues with machinery, parts, or process.
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply basic mathematical skills to the work environment.
  • Ability to identify, organize, estimate, and recognize differences or similarities with excellent attention to detail.
  • Knowledge or experience working in an inclusive work environment, particularly those persons with disabilities.
  • Skill in prioritizing and managing a fast-paced work environment.
  • Currently able to speak, read and write fluent English.



Physical Demands and Work Environment
To perform the essential functions of the role, employees must be able to perform the following activities with or without reasonable accommodations:


  • Regularly stand and walk throughout the facility, including all buildings and the manufacturing areas
  • Regularly lift, carry (short distances), and push/pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Regularly climb steps, stairs, or ladders
  • Occasionally bend, crawl, stoop, squat, or kneel.
  • Constantly communicate verbally and in writing (English) using a phone, texts, or other messaging
  • Visual acuity to accurately identify, organize, estimate, and recognize differences or similarities; accurately distinguish colors.
  • Use hands and fingers to operate computer keyboards, and measurement instruments, and manually examine parts.



Working Conditions
Work is performed in a manufacturing shop environment where working conditions may vary significantly; the employee will be exposed to:


  • Excessive noise (hearing protection required)
  • Dust, smoke, fumes/vapors (occasionally)
  • Extreme temperatures (occasionally)
  • Hazardous equipment including forklifts, hand tools, cranes or other lifting devices, and other equipment used in a machine shop environment.


The use of PPE, including hearing protection, eye and hand protection, and use of safety footwear is required.
