How you make a difference in this role: HRBI Assistant Director plays an intricate role in the investigating of allegations of health care providers, which protects citizens from unscrupulous providers. Job Overview: The Tennessee Department of Health is seeking a Health Related Boards Investigator Assistant Director (HRBI Asst Dir) to serve as executive manager and assistant to the Director. The duty for this position involves managing and supervising directly and indirectly the central office's internal operations which includes the supervision of the desk investigation team, complaint coordination team, and intake coordination team as well as collaborating with those conducting field operations. Key Responsibilities: The Health Related Boards Investigator Assistant Director (HRBI Asst Dir) will represent the department by assisting OIV's director in managing and supervising internal staff which includes desk investigators involved in the overall internal operations. The HRBI Asst Dir will supervise directly and indirectly all personnel assigned to the various internal operational teams; provide guidance to team leaders and team members assigned to the various teams within OIV's central office; monitor and assess the progress of each team and prepare plans in conjunction with the director to facilitate the improvement of each team leader and member; prepares and/or approves individual performance plans (IPP) for each team leader and team member assigned to the central office internal operations and monitors the progress throughout the IPP cycle. The HRBI Asst Dir must have the managerial skills, knowledge, and experience to provide guidance to those staff employees reviewing, opening, coordinating, and investigating complaints from concerned citizens against licensed healthcare providers on behalf of the 34 health related boards for the State of Tennessee. Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelors degree in criminal justice, criminology, public administration, or related field with at least five years of full-time investigative and executive management experience conducting healthcare investigations as well as managing staff involved in the processing and triaging the investigations.
