Sales Coordinator

Reports to: Director of Sales, position is non-exempt

THE ROLE

As a Sales Coordinator you will live and breathe the company's culture pillars of People, Place, and Character that promote an engaging and positive work environment. The position will partner with our sales team to produce the information required to ensure every phase of an event is flawless. You have a strong attention to detail, a desire to provide exceptional customer service and are curious and want to learn everything you can about sales and catering.

WHAT YOU WILL DO


  • Anticipate and deliver exceptional service consistently
  • Must possess excellent knowledge of the hotel and all departments internally
  • Must possess ability to coordinate with multiple tasks
  • Computer literacy to include: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Excellent communications skills both written/verbal
  • Highly organized and has the ability to plan multiple activities and meet deadlines with the ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; phone skills, customer service oriented, proactive and a team player
  • Receive and respond to incoming telephone calls in accordance to hotel standards and assists with overflow calls
  • Detail groups and events booked by the Sales Manager
  • Perform administrative skills such as typing, filing, copying, faxing, opening and sorting mail, coordinating appointments and answer telephones according for hotel standards Prepare written correspondence including letters, contracts, reports, schedule of events and e-mails using MS, Outlook and Sales system
  • Maintain accounts, including traces, creating and updating bookings, manipulating events in the function diary and the preparation of contracts and Banquet Event Orders
  • Maintain the various sales system file systems, both electronic and paper, including account files, program evaluation, databases, master binders for BEOs and resumes
  • Periodically assist with front of the house operations including greeting and directing guests and working with banquets on quick sets or tear downs
  • All other responsibilities assigned by management


WHAT YOU WILL NEED:


  • Good reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language
  • Must have a high school education or equivalent experience
  • Preferred 4 year college degree preferably with an emphasis in Hospitality or Marketing Management
  • Computer literacy to include: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • A minimum of 2 years administrative experience
