Job Summary:

Mercury Systems offers an opportunity for a transformational leader in manufacturing operations who is willing to roll up their sleeves and lead change in an organization of 550 people by example. TheVice President of Factory Operations position supports a centralized operating model with focus on productivity and operational excellence (OpEx) across 10 manufacturing locations. This leader will be responsible for developing and implementing manufacturing strategies, ensuring the highest standards of product quality, optimizing production processes, and driving operational excellence. In addition, this leader will play a critical role in scaling production capabilities, fostering innovation, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering and operations management, exceptional leadership skills, and a strategic mindset to drive continuous improvement.

Job Responsibilities:



  • Develop and execute the manufacturing strategy aligned with the company's overall business objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
  • Lead long-term capacity planning and infrastructure investment to support future growth.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure targets are met or exceeded.
  • Ensure that all manufacturing processes comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company quality standards.
  • Conduct regular assessments of operational efficiency and effectiveness, making recommendations for enhancements as needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices.
  • Provide regular reports and presentations to the executive team on operational performance and initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability throughout the manufacturing organization.
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing manufacturing team.
  • Develop talent within the organization through coaching, training, and succession planning.


Required Qualifications:



  • 15+ years related experience in operations, quality, and/or process improvement roles, ideally in the aerospace & defense industry.
  • Proven experience in operations management or a similar role, with a track record of success in optimizing processes and driving results.
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Experience leading by influence and has seen success in driving or managing various elements of change in an organization.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Familiar with the design of SOPs, Work Instructions, and Job Aides to improve workflow and compliance.
  • Knowledge of microelectronics manufacturing and SIOP processes.
  • Industry experience with embedded systems, secure computing technologies, modular open systems approach (MOSA) and military standards.
  • Goal and result oriented and demonstrated experience prioritizing according to business objectives to pursue several objectives simultaneously.
  • Successful management of cross-functional teams to perform process analysis, improvement, and implementation across a multi-site scope.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Tactful communication (written and presentation) style; need to have the ability to create a story and value proposition, develop presentations, and present in front of internal/external clients, as well as frontline to executive levels.


Location:

This position requires candidate to work out of our Phoenix, AZ or our Hudson, NH facility.
