Who We Are

The Minnesota Coalition Against Sexual Assault (MNCASA) provides leadership and resources for sexual assault programs and allies to prevent sexual violence while promoting a comprehensive, socially just response for all victims/survivors. We support, convene, and collaborate with sexual assault programs, advocates, prosecutors, and law enforcement officers to promote a more victim-centered response to sexual violence, and increase effective criminal justice. Our prevention programs take action before someone is harmed, and we work with policy makers and elected officials for laws and programs that fight sexual violence. MNCASA provides:



  1. Victim and Survivor Support by helping partner programs and medical personnel, law enforcement, and legal and social service providers deliver state of the art victim advocacy and support.
  2. Prevention Support by developing the capacity of partner programs and others to design and implement effective community-level primary prevention strategies.
  3. Policy Reforms through public policy education and advocacy.
  4. Systems Change by developing capacity in medical, criminal justice, social service, and judicial systems to incorporate a coordinated and victim-centered approach into their responses.

Wages & Benefits

$115,000 - $130,000 annual salary range; generous paid time off (PTO) policy; 9 paid holidays in addition to a paid year-end holiday break December 24-December 31; paid employee volunteer time; competitive health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; health savings and flexible spending accounts; agency-sponsored retirement savings plan with immediate vesting and 4% employer match.

A Typical Day in the Life...

A typical day as MNCASA's Executive Director provides an opportunity to lead the organization's strategic direction, manage its operations, and advocate for systemic change. This role involves working closely with the Board of Directors, staff, members, and community partners to foster a collaborative environment and ensure the effective delivery of programs and services. Responsibilities will include the following:



  • Developing and executing a vision and strategic plan in conjunction with the Board of Directors, staff, and membership to guide the organization.
  • Leading organizational and programmatic change efforts and evaluating and tracking progress toward goals.
  • Implementing an ongoing performance process for all staff, including evaluation, monitoring, coaching and mentoring, and performance review.
  • Participating in and representing the organization in local, regional, and national activities related to MNCASA's work in partnership with staff.
  • Ensuring the financial stability of the agency, including soliciting and managing grants, expanding fundraising capabilities, and identifying new sources of revenue to support the growth of the organization.
  • Enhancing the organization's fund development activities by overseeing a planned fundraising strategy and monitoring related activities and results.
  • Cultivating relationships with new and diverse sources for organizational support.
  • Overseeing financial management, reporting, budget development, and management.
  • Ensuring adherence to GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles), timely completion and filing of required financial reports (e.g., audit, 990, etc.), strong internal controls to mitigate the risk of fraud, and compliance with funder expectations and contractual and grant requirements.
  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and guidelines related to the workplace, human resources, wage laws, and the operation of a nonprofit organization.
  • Being an effective leader on issues of public policy, legislation, and law-making strategies impacting sexual violence and prevention.
  • Leading in promoting messaging and providing expertise, input, and testimony on behalf of MNCASA membership and stakeholders on issues relating to sexual violence.



Who You Are



  • You have a bachelor's degree in human services, business/nonprofit management, public policy, or a related field.
  • You hold a master's degree (a plus).
  • You have a minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior management position in a related organization.
  • You have previous experience working with or for a Board of Directors.
  • You have previous experience with QuickBooks or financial software (a plus).
  • You have experience managing organization finances and setting/managing annual budgets.
  • You have proven success in executing fundraising and donor development approaches.
  • You demonstrate an understanding of sexual violence and its root causes.
  • You understand emerging issues in the field and their intersections with social justice issues.
  • You have knowledge of local, state, and national legislative processes.
  • You are familiar with the Twin Cities and/or greater Minnesota philanthropic community.
  • You possess strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Office).
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • You possess strong public speaking and facilitation abilities.
  • You have a valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation. Please note that if your license was not issued in the state of Minnesota, you have 60 days after becoming a Minnesota resident to apply for a Minnesota driver's license or permit.
