Stellantis Diagnostics and Safety Diagnostics Engineer will have the opportunity to work with Diagnostic and Functional Safety calibrators and technical specialists to create, develop and sustain diagnostics within control strategy. Work with program engineers to develop, calibrate and validate related diagnostics on NA developed applications. Collaborate with software and control engineers to determine requirements and validate software functionality using all available resources. The position requires strong understanding of various sensors (Accelerator pedal, Throttle, Pressure Sensors, etc.), CAN communication, and torque calculation. The Engineer will plan, then conduct, a highly detailed series of electrical and CAN fault injections designed to test the system's capacity to detect failures and perform the necessary remedial action. The ideal candidate will have a background in functional safety, diagnostics, and controls. The candidate should expect to travel 1-3 weeks throughout the year for system validation/verification. Basic Qualifications * Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or an equivalent Engineering degree from an accredited university * Minimum of 1 year of experience in Diagnostics/Emissions calibration or controls or experience with hardware or validation of electrified propulsion systems * Expert level experience with Canalyzer/Canoe * Knowledge of INCA, Matlab and Simulink/Stateflow * Self-motivated/proactive with strong leadership and interpersonal skills * Ability to operate both independently and as part of a team * Computer proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and database applications * Fundamental knowledge of internal combustion engines and powertrain calibration * Working knowledge of calibration tools (INCA), emissions regulations, and powertrain technologies. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including PowerPoint presentations to upper management. Preferred Qualifications * Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university * 3+ years of experience in engine development, powertrain systems development /engine calibration /control systems development / diagnostics within the automotive industry * Calibration process knowledge using design of experiments and advanced optimization techniques. * Proficient in advanced simulation tools * Proficient in Matlab / Simulink |
