The Ultra Maritime Commercial function is responsible for negotiating the terms and conditions in contracts and ensuring compliance with the terms and conditions and agreeing on any changes or amendments that may arise in the management of contracts made with customers, vendors, partners or employees.

The Sr Contracts Specialist role will perform important oversight functions to ensure adherence with internal and Government procedures on government property/management and administration, bid management and approval, and acts as the conduit between the sales and technical teams and other Group functions including Finance and Legal.

Nationality Requirements

Candidates must be eligible to obtain the relevant security clearance required for the role, due to the nature of the programmes we deliver for our customers.

Responsibilities

Senior Contracts Specialist

  • Reviews and approves all contractual documents for protection of company's contractual posture, satisfaction of government specifications and requirements, and adherence to company policy.
  • Advises leadership of contractual rights and obligations and also provides interpretation of terms and conditions.
  • Prepare, review, and edit contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies and relevant laws.
  • Lead the negotiation and execution of contract amendments or extensions when necessary.
  • Lead and manage contract life cycle, including kick-off and close activities
  • Monitor and enforce contract compliance throughout the contract's lifecycle, including tracking key milestones, deliverables, and deadlines.
  • Maintain an organized and up-to-date contract repository, including version control, renewal dates, and related documentation.
  • Identify and assess potential risks associated with contracts and propose mitigation strategies to protect the organization's interests.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors, clients, and other stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
  • Stay up to date with changes in laws and regulations that may impact contracts and ensure all contracts comply with relevant legal requirements.
  • Generate reports and provide contract-related data and insights to management and other stakeholders as needed.
  • Conduct training sessions or provide guidance to employees and team members on contract management best practices and compliance.

Government Property Administration

  • Responsible for our Property Management business system compliance and approval.
  • Manage appropriate phases of the internal and Government surveys of the Government Property Management System, assuring deficiencies are immediately addressed by advising the responsible supervisors of findings, recommending solutions, and assisting in the development and implementation of Corrective Actions Plans.
  • Provide Government Property guidance on all new business proposals or contract awards.
  • Ensure compliance with company policy and procedures, contractual and FAR/DFARS requirements.
  • Prepare and/or manage budget estimates for own work scope and performing distinct property tasks.

Required Education & Experience

Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) experience

2 years experience managing the full scope of contract support, including kick-off meetings to close-out activities

2 years managing/administering government property

or a combination of experience and education

May be required to maintain security clearance

Preferred Education & Experience

Advanced Degree

Direct experience in DoD or military contracting

Working knowledge of FAR/DFARS

Understanding of commercial terms and conditions

Certification in contract management (e.g., CPCM, CFCM, CCCM) is a plus

Familiarity with specific contract types (e.g., procurement contracts, service agreements, NDAs) may be required in certain industries
