LPN-Emergency Department

Presbyterian is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our dynamic Emergency Department team. The LPN will provide patient-centered care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment under the supervision of registered nurses (RNs) and physicians. This role requires strong clinical skills, quick decision-making, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while ensuring quality care and patient safety.

Type of Opportunity: Full Time (0.9 FTE/36 hours per week)
Work Schedule: 12 Hour Nights

*Education: High School Diploma or GED

*Credentials: Licensed Practical Nurse-NM or out of state compact LPN license

*BLS required at time of hire

*PDS IV Certification course (within orientation period)

*Basic Cardiac Arrythmias (BCA) for areas where cardiac telemetry monitoring is used (prior to ACLS)

*ACLS (within 6 months of being hired) for areas where required

* Provide direct patient care, including taking vital signs, administering medications, and performing basic medical procedures as permitted by state regulations.
* Assist in the triage process by gathering patient information and documenting symptoms and medical histories.
* Monitor and report changes in patient condition to RNs and physicians.
* Assist with wound care, IV therapy, splinting, and other procedures as directed.
* Support patients and families by providing education and emotional reassurance during critical situations.
* Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
* Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care.
* Uphold infection control practices and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
* Participate in emergency response situations and contribute to team efforts during critical events.
* Restock supplies and ensure the emergency department is prepared for patient care.
