As a Sr. Analyst supporting Global Transportation Optimization within our Supply Chain team, you will be responsible for long-term supply chain strategies and networks that address capacity issues and production location decisions in support of business goals. The Transportation Network Optimization Analyst will be a vital role in ensuring the success and operational excellence of the Alcon Transportation network at our Fort Worth, TX facility. In this role, a typical day will include:
- Operational responsibility for Alcon Global Transportation reporting and analytics. Become a strategic partner and collaborate with areas of Supply Chain, MTO, and Finance team to deliver accurate and value-adding insights
- Developing and maintaining critical metrics for both Domestic and Export shipments
- Preparing reports for key partners regarding Transportation spend and optimization opportunities
- Acting as Subject Matter Expert in all areas of the AERA Transportation Skill platform; Training of end users
- Serving as point of contact for successful publication of all AERA dashboards and day-to-day operational support; resolving any issues or answering any queries related to data/methodology.
- Maintaining Day-to-day interaction with logistic providers
- Managing inbound/outbound operational performance to enhance capacity plan, truckload utilization, ocean container utilization, and carrier performance
- Collaborating with Supply Chain & Commercial teams regarding product launch expectations and requirements
- Active participation in continuous improvement process (CIP) by completing CIP projects to drive savings towards financial targets
- Supporting Global and Regional financial targets through operational excellence
- Actively participating in and supporting all site and team projects and initiatives
- Completing all required job specific Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) and Safety training
- Acting in accordance with Alcon values and behaviors
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:
- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs; Assoc.+6 yrs; M.S.+0 yrs)
- The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
- 2 Years of Relevant Experience
- Education in Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science/Analytics, or Statistics; Masters of Business Administration preferred
- Prior supply chain experience, ideally within the healthcare industry
- Knowledge of Data science, AI concepts, and analytical techniques in predictive techniques
- Ability to understand business requirements and key performance indicators (KPIs), and translate them into structured and logical analytical hypotheses; identify appropriate solutions based on these analyses
- Solid understanding of supply chain network, planning, forecasting, inventory management, production scheduling, logistics, and warehousing
