Job Summary: University Housing is looking for individuals to join our Dining and Culinary Services dishwasher team. Dishwashers keep the UW-Madison residential dining facilities prepared and stocked with clean serving supplies. Starting wage is $17.00 per hour. We're also offering a $2,000 to $4,000 hiring bonus and significant night and weekend shift differentials. Responsibilities: Performs dishwashing and dining room set-up related tasks to ensure compliance with health, safety and sanitation requirements, rules, and regulations. 40% Operates a dishwashing station and associated equipment 15% Cleans and maintains equipment and work areas to ensure adherence to safe food quality, handling, and sanitation processes and procedures 10% Shelves and organizes (stockroom, warehouse) inventory 5% Moves and maintains equipment and furniture for dining events 10% Assists student employees and provides training as needed 20% Provide customer service, including food serving, to internal and external customers Tasks: Demonstrates and role models exceptional customer service. Perform duties in a high-volume, dynamic, student residential dining environment. Provide support and assist as needed in the implementation of plans and procedures in the event of an emergency. Diploma Qualifications: Required: 6 months of dishwashing or cleaning experience in a professional setting. Preferred: Knowledge of cleaning and sanitizing procedures. Preferred: 1+ years of dishwashing experience in a high volume institutional professional kitchen setting. Work Schedule: Schedules will be determined at time of offer. The primary schedule for this position typically consists of 5, 8-hour shifts per week that may fall on any day of the week. Schedules may rotate every other weekend. Operational and work schedules will be closely aligned with the services and customer needs of the unit. As a result, work schedules may be adjusted during specific times of the year, including summer and winter break hours. Schedules will be determined at time of offer. Schedule alterations as operations and position expectations demand. Work Type: Full Time: 100% It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Appointment Type, Duration: Ongoing/Renewable Salary: $17.00 HOURLY Fixed This is a full-time appointment. The hourly rate is $17.00 and includes a competitive retirement and benefits package. Additional Information: Hiring full-time for either 12-month appointments OR 9-month academic year appointments, based on operational needs.
