Position Overview The Division of University Advancement is seeking to hire a Prospect Research Analyst to join our team. Under general direction from the Senior Director of Prospect Strategy and Research, the Research Analyst is responsible for identifying potential philanthropic prospects, performing extensive prospect research, and providing analysis to support effective principal gift, major gift, corporate, and foundation fundraising, donor-centric data-driven decision-making, and strategic planning for engagement and fundraising priorities for the University of North Texas. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree and two years' of professional experience in marketing, fundraising, event planning, public relations, corporate account sales, or communications; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Working knowledge of the Prospect Development field, including prospect research, prospect management, and prospect analytics. Knowledge of accepted business practices and procedures. Ability to establish and maintain cordial, productive, and professional working relationships with internal and external contacts. Ability to manage time, personnel, financial, and physical resources effectively. Exceptional communication skills. Ability to master University policies and procedures and apply these in specific situations. Some knowledge of philanthropy and fundraising principles or the ability to assimilate quickly. Preferred Qualifications Two years' experience in prospect research, grants management, fundraising, prospect analytics, or related areas. Required License/Registration/Certifications None Job Duties: Prospect Research and New Prospect Identification Under the direction of the Senior Director, Prospect Strategy and Research, the Research Analyst, will perform proactive and reactive specialized, high quality prospect research and analysis using a variety of sources and strategies, to provide accurate, timely, and strategic information to fundraising staff on prospective donors to UNT with emphasis on principal gift, major gift, corporate, and foundation prospects. Assists with targeted prospecting lists on request by curating collections of the best prospects identified for a specific objective. Assume primary responsibility for meeting prospect research needs of principal gift, major gift, corporate, and foundation officers. Leverage queries to proactively identify and distribute prospects with a combination of high major giving capacity and high affinity to the University. Prospect and Data Integrity Assists with maintaining the accuracy and completeness of advancement data by auditing, updating, and cleaning prospect data including but not limited to major gift capacity ratings, financial information, giving to other organizations, and prospect analytics scores. Maintain the professional and ethical standards set forth for the field by the Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement (APRA). Remain current on fundraising and prospect development best practices, especially related to prospect research and development. Advancement Administration Build strong relationships with advancement clients by attending portfolio review sessions, team meetings, and providing timely, thorough, and accurate prospect information through the completion of prospect research requests. Work independently and manage diverse, competing priorities while meeting deadlines and producing high-quality deliverables. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm; Typical 40-hour work week with possible flex-time schedule and hybrid work opportunities.
